Imagine yourself leaving the stress behind as you drive along Puget Sound to Serendipity Cottage. No waiting for the ferry, no putting chains on your car, no driving long distances to find seclusion. Imagine relaxation taking hold as you descend the staircase to your romantic garden cottage by the sea, and the delight to your senses as you enter -- into the aroma of fresh-baked treats in honor of your arrival and a magnificent vista across the Sound and on to the snow-capped Olympic Mountains. Perhaps a heron or a soaring bald eagle will celebrate your arrival!

This romantic haven can be your cozy hideaway for the week or longer! While close to Seattle and its popular tourist destinations, close also to wilderness adventure and winter sports in the nearby Cascade Mountains, and a short drive to the Boeing factory and museums, Serendipity Cottage is secluded and private. There is a private wooden deck off the bedroom and, in the middle of the garden, a circular viewing deck. Gorgeous sunset views are available from many vantage points.

This one-bedroom, 2 bath, smoke-free cottage, perfect for two, is fully furnished, Enjoy panoramic views from south and west-facing picture windows. Television, DVD, and wireless internet are all provided, if you can bring yourself inside or tear yourself away from the windows.

And the views are truly spectacular. This is a favorite spot for birdwatchers in all seasons. Beachcombers love wading in sun-warmed waters during low tides. A 3.5-mile woodland trail begins or ends on the beach just a few steps outside the door. Quaint, downtown Edmonds is less than 5 miles away, with shopping, festivals, live performances, a movie theater, and a world-class underwater scuba park. Kingston is just a short 20-minute ferry ride away, where you can enjoy crepes for breakfast and take in the farmers' market on weekends before taking the next ferry home.

Can we extend our stay?

The million dollar view of Puget Sound and The Olympic Mtns. alone make this a 5 star property. The adjacent beach and close proximity (a 5 minute walk) of a forested park with trails are icing on the cake. Or maybe I should say icing on the pie as the proprietors greet you with an amazing fruit pie on arrival. The Kingston ferry, the Sounder (rail transit to Seattle and Everett), Alderwood Mall, other stores, cinemas and restaurants are a few minutes away.

We are already planning our return.

Serendipity Cottage

My husband and I have stayed at Serendipity Cottage numerous times; our visits have ranged from a week to a month at a time. Every stay was delightful, from our greeting with a fresh-baked pie to our final good-bye to our warm and cheerful hosts.

We found our stays so restful. The views are spectacular and the sunsets indescribably beautiful. We often spent hours at the large windows watching the eagles and the waterfowl, and sometimes we were treated to a glimpse of dolphins dancing in the Sound.

We often took walks to the beach or along the beautiful wooded trail in the nearby park. The options range from a good workout walking up the steep hill in the park to a restful sit on a log at the beach.

We would stay forever if we could!

One of the most beautiful views of Pudget Sound , set on a lovely hill. Close to everything, Edmonds, Seattle, mountains, Boeing Factory, Casinos........just a great place to spend enjoyable time. The owners, were most helpful and extremely interesting people. We've been there three different times and plan to come again.

Excellent views, Incredibly quiet, Tons to entertain you

staying here is everything the owners say and way more. first of the homemade pies are incredible, yum yum makes me hungry to see the photo. the views are outstanding and you will be delighted and entertained for hours, forget the pesky internet and tv! this is what watching is all about.
the garden is gorgeous and peaceful and then walk down to the beach, don't be scared to walk across the train tracks and down the rocks to this wonderful beach. Spent HOURS stooped over finding tons of beach glass my favorite, walk to the old pier and see the Biggest starfish ever. so wonderful. Bed is comfy and warm. cutest cabin kitchen with all you need. go to the famous Seattle market and buy those GORGEOUS HUGE and cheap flowers for a centerpiece when you first arrive, FRESH salmon to eat with a crisp white wine and sit outside with those views and you are in heaven. who needs a restaurant? you won't regret booking here. its all that and then some!

Delightful!

After a month in the cottage, I was relaxed and thoroughly pleased with all the choices I had of ways to spend time. The beach, the woodsy trail, hanging out on the deck and in the garden, watching the ships and hoping for eagles were all wonderful. Poking around in town was good people watching. But the base for all of this was clean and comfortable rooms, lots of privacy, big views and no street noise. The owners know it’s your time, and are welcoming without being intrusive.
