We are all season outdoor adventurers. We love hiking, backpacking, nordic and downhill skiing, street and mountain biking, boating, and fishing. We discovered Seward back in '05 and found the scenery and friendly people irresistible. Being based in California it's

always a treat to return to Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula.

Steve and Pati Hinds purchased this house in 2006

We built this home in 2006. A simple and functional floor plan on our 3 acre property. It's a quiet rural neighborhood with lots of open space on the edge of the Alaskan Wilderness.

We will be staying this summer in the second home on the property.

When staying at our house you have access to free fire wood, extra clothing (if needed), rubber boots , sleeping bags and pads, and even bear spray!

NICE AMENITIES AND LOCATION

  • 4 of 5
We enjoyed our two days at this cabin. The owner was very kind and the cabin was very clean with all the amenities. There are nice books and maps in the cabin and a firepit we really enjoyed using with provided wood. The only downside was the cabin smelled of cigarette smoke, which faded somewhat, but our clothes had the smell of that on them the rest of our trip. I would recommend an eye cover for sleeping as the master bedroom drapes do not make it dark. If it weren't for the smoke I would give it 5 stars.

4TH OF JULY TRIP

  • 5 of 5
We had an excellent time in this cabin. We had 6 people in our group and it fit us no probably whats so all. The living room and kitchen were very spacious. Owners were very accomodating. Everything was very clean, which is saying something for a cabin in the woods. If we ever make it back to Alaska, this is where we will be staying.

KELLY AND FAMILY, MN

  • 5 of 5
Steve and Pati, we feel so lucky to have found this hidden gem. It was absolutely perfect for our family and we can't imagine spending our time in Seward any other way. Steve, you were an incredible host to us. We were surprised and delighted by everything you did to make our stay perfect. From bonfires and songs to your hospitality in every way. It was apparent and so appreciated that you wanted to make our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible (and you exceeded any expectations we had). The home is exactly as advertised and worked out wonderfully for our family. I hope that we get to make it back to Seward and your place is available for rent. It was beyond anything we could have imagined and we would feel honored to get to stay there again.

COMFORTABLE HOME, GREAT SERVICE

  • 4 of 5
The house was fairly basic, but just right. The house was very clean, comfortable and had many amenities including a fire pit that Steve would light on demand! We loved our nightly s'mores and Steve's recommendations for restaurants. The Tempurpedic mattresses were outstanding!

VERY NICE

  • 5 of 5
Clean, conveniently located, and plenty of room for outdoor activities (horseshoes, corn hole, bonfire). Couldn't have asked for much more.

AMAZING FAMILY STAY

  • 5 of 5
My family of three stayed here for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer. This is the perfect home away from home for your Seward vacation. The owners live next door and were super easy to deal with and quickly responded to all my emails and texts while setting up the rental and during our stay. Steve started the fire pit on our first night while we enjoyed our steak dinner off the grill, my son could hardly wait to make s'mores.

The location is very close to town and all of the attractions but off the beaten path with plenty of privacy. We enjoyed the river/stream out back, it was a great place to take a walk and skip rocks. The local market, there is only one, is roughly five miles away. We stocked up on beer, wine, s'mores and grilling essentials.

The house itself is perfect. The owners have thought of every convenience. The house was spotless and is exactly as shown in the pictures. If you want to cook while staying there, the kitchen is very well-equipped and there is a gas grill outside for grilling. Plenty of parking and privacy, loved the flower garden.

If you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed. You will have all the conveniences of the nicest hotel with more space and without the high cost. We hope to return one day!
