This home was beautiful, we were there in the dead of winter and this was just the perfect cozy stay. we ventured out during the day and sat by the fire place in the evening. There are plenty off books and what to do there even in the dead of winter. And the frozen lake view is really just magical to wake up to. This home is clean and fully stocked.
I cant wait to come back in the summer!
We've rented a few houses in the last 3 years all over the world and always had a good experience but we never felt as home as in this house. It is very cozy and comfortable. All 3 levels overlook the lake from the top of the hill. The house kept us warm and safe in -20F weather. The kitchen is well stocked (really well), the living room has books to read, some music to listen, and even a few table-top games to keep your family entertained in cold winter evenings near a fireplace.
The hosts are really going far and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. The driveway is always plowed, Jeff allowed us to check out 1 hour late and gave us detailed information about what to do around.
One thing to keep in mind that the internet is not the fastest and the electronics (TV, Stereo ) are not the latest. You may not be able to plugin your HDMI device or MP3 player, there is however a DVD and CD player but honestly who cares about all these in Vermont. It's such a beautiful place it would be a waste to stare at a TV.
I really wish we would live a little closer to come here more often.
The property was perfect for us. Equidistant between Stowe and Jay Peak, which worked perfectly for us as we skied both mountains. Plenty of room for our group to spread out. Plenty of bathrooms. It snowed the whole time we were there and we were pleasantly surprised to find the sidewalks shoveled when we left to go skiing. Large foyer for all of our "ski-stuff" and beautiful views from the house. Plenty of heat and hot water and the fireplace and hot tub made this the perfect ski vacation for our group. Thanks so much for everything!!!!!
Not a single negative thing to say. The property is immaculately kept with everything you could need for a great ski vacation. Perfectly situated in between 2 great mountains. Overall our group had an amazing stay here on Lake Eden. We will definitely look into the property again if we ever choose to ski Vermont in the future.
We stayed for three nights for NYE. The house is new, clean and spacious with special touches like a working fireplace, jacuzzi, and beautiful views. It's a cozy town close to lots of ski mountains. We'll be sure to come back!
What a beautiful home. My fiancée and I brought our children to Vermont for the Columbus Day weekend to be a part in our private wedding at the Old Round Church in Richmond, VT. We needed a place that could accommodate all 3 of them without us tripping over each other. Jeff & Deanna are wonderful to work with. Quick communication, clear pricing and detailed arrival instructions gave me reason to believe this would be the hassle-free part of our trip.
Boy was I correct! The home is beautifully situated above Lake Eden with decks on all 3 levels. The master suite is remarkable for the Jacuzzi and private balcony that gave incredible views of the lake and of the endless stars above. The main floor had a well-stocked kitchen with all the basics you could need to assist in meal preparation, adequate dining space, cozy living room and best of all a stocked wood burning fireplace with very clear directions. What a way to spend our evenings. The basement provided a haven for the kids with lots of sleeping options, their own TV and a separate bathroom. Wi-Fi was adequate and I was honestly surprised it was an option.
My (now) wife and I are anxious to return to this part of Vermont and hopefully will be able to return sooner rather than later.
Great job keeping it clear and simple.
Located on Lake Eden with direct access to the lake with private 100ft frontage. The drive is a private road and quiet. Located 30 minutes to Stowe, Smugglers notch and Jay Peak Ski Resorts.
During the Summer months there are several activities within 30 minutes of the house.
The Abortrek Zip line at Smugglers notch is a fun afternoon of zipping through the trees. The new Indoor Waterpark at Jay Peak is great day of waterpark fun from the lazy river to the giant slide.
If a little closer to nature is what you are looking for than maybe a Kayak Tour by Umiak Outfitters on the local river. If a little excersice is ok, try our personnel favorites, hiking some of the best terrain anywhere, Camels Hump and Mt. Mansfield not to mention some great 2-4 hr. local hikes on the long trail.
