The area is very private, with most of the residents only here on the weekends and holidays.
The home was located in a private area and was a very relaxing place to stay. The pool was great for the kids! They played in the pool all day everyday while the adults relaxed around the pool. It was great! Being on the ocean was also awesome! We got to see dolphins come very close up to the end of the dock 4 out of the 7 days we where there. This was super cool for the kids! Kris was easy to reach with any questions we had. We would definitely come back here for another vacation!
We had a nice time. The area is very remote, more so than I anticipated. Driving from the north we had to take hours of back roads to get to the house. Once we made it, it was a beautiful setting. We got to see dolphins and there are some great state and national parks near by. I wish the weather would have been warmer, not a lot to do on cool days. We went to St. George Island twice which is about an hour and 20 minute drive, The island is a little more touristy (I say that in a good way, better restaurants and things to do.)
The house was one of the more odd houses in terms of layout I have rented on VRBO, it was an older house, but also had some nice updates. One thing I didn't realize was that all the upstairs bedrooms are open ceilings so after our small children went to bed it had to be quiet time throughout the house. Not a terrible thing, but didn't catch this before we arrived.
The star gazing was amazing, we packed our telescope and I am glad we did!
This place is wonderful! It is very private! It's is about 20 minute drive to town, wich was perfect for us. Very secluded. The house is as advertised! Beautiful!! If I could o my post pics!!! Dolphins at about 10:20 every morning! Love!!!
A great vacation. The house whilst old was perfect everything you you needed was here .The location was private and quiet and the pool just made it perfect.Kris was so helpful and readily available if needed. We both loved everything. If your looking for lots of action and people its not for you.If you want a relaxing and quite vacation this is the place.its location is very quiet but there is plenty to see and do within driving distance .We will be going back the for sure.
The house and pool are great. It is an older property in an area where the weather can take a toll on any building. In other words if you 're looking for new, sleek and shiny accomadations you're in the wrong place. We had been to Live Oak Island many times so we knew what is and isn't there. LOI is not for the beach seeker; it's for the person looking for an active vacation. There is a multitude of fishing, paddling, cycling, crabbing, scalloping, etc. all around you. Tallahassee is always 30 minutes away if you have urban withdrawal.
This property was very roomy. Very quiet. This house would be ideal for someone with a boat. We watched dolphins almost daily, this was the best part to see them so close. This is a perfect place if don't want a bunch of tourism. We missed it a little and drove a couple of hours to Panama City Beach to mini golf, shop, and take a airboat ride. Overall, a very relaxing place.
