Our flat is in a highly sought after area in the center of London. It has a living area of over 900 sq ft and all the modern comforts you need during your stay. Within easy walking distance to the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, Shakespeare's Globe theatre, and the City of London financial district. Jump on the tube at London bridge and in 10 mins you are in the West End the heart of theatreland, shopping, and many tourist attractions; Piccadilly Circus,Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey.

Conveniently located on Bermondsey Street with great independent shops, fantastic restaurants and lovely little cafes. Relax and enjoy a pint in the Woolpack local pub just across the road from the flat . Head to the Village East restaurant, located on the ground level of our apartment block, for an amazing dinner or try one of the other fine restaurants on Bermondsey St.

Roam through Borough Market, London's oldest food market, where you can purchase exceptional produce, cheese, and other British fare. It is set beneath the railway viaducts between the river Thames and Borough High Street - less than a 10 min walk from the flat.

Our flat is tastefully decorated with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one ensuite. The lounge has two double sofas, one with a sofabed, and a 42' flat screen TV. The open plan design is ideal for 5- 6 guests to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing. The dining area comfortably seats 6 and the modern, fully equiped kitchen including, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave, stove, and full selection of cooking utensils.

Perfect for both business travelers and sightseers.

Mark is a native Londoner I met while studying abroad. We have been married 30 years and live in the US, but consider London our second home.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2007

We travel to London on a regular basis and like to have a place to stay we consider home where we can relax, entertain, and enjoy being a part of the local culture. Bermondsey St. is a fantastic location with easy access to London's amazing attractions. These include Tower Bridge, South Bank Center, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, and the City of London.

With coffee shops, bistro, and local pubs it has very neighbor feel.

We love to shop at Borough Market for the freshest produce, cheeses, meats, along with other unique foods from the area. It is a short walk to the tube and the high street for shopping.

Great apartment

Great apartment the place is spacious and up to date, no problems with anything. The location is sublime a 10 minute walk from london bridge tube station. Bremonsbey street is lovely, full of amazing restaurants and people. Would recommend to anyone staying there for several days as its location is perfect for sightseeing.

Noisy Location!

• I am writing this review with some reluctance as dealing with Mary the flat owner was wonderful. She responded to my every question and concern. She even supplied us with a list of her recommendations for things to do and restaurants to try. Reading through the reviews I felt assured that I was making the correct decision by selecting this flat for myself and the four others traveling with me. We were dropped off in the street with our luggage but I felt comfortable that we were in the correct place as I had researched the area and all seemed familiar. Mary had told us to call the rental agency upon arrival and one of two girls would meet us to give us the keys and show us around. We called and spoke to Anna who said sorry we do not meet you, you’ll need to come to the office and retrieve the keys yourself. We found our way to the office and insisted Anna return to the flat with us. She clearly was unhappy but did come with us. She basically let us in and said any questions and she was gone. We found an instruction manual hidden under the linens. There was towels for four people (there was five of us). Called Anna and she said sorry that’s all there is. Had difficulty entering the front door but got the hang of it after some practice. Was not comforted by the fact that Anna said she always has trouble getting in the door. We liked the location of the flat as it was close to grocery stores, restaurants and the famous London Bridge. We noticed the vacinity was extremely busy and noisy but hoped as the evening got later it would quiet down. We were wrong. It got worse. The flat is over a restaurant that turns into a bar. People are standing below the bedroom window outside of the bar, smoking and talking till all hours of the night. It was very difficult for my 74 year old mother and 65 year old aunt to sleep. Street traffic and delivery trucks are load and you begin to hear them in the very early hours of the morning. You need to be extremely tall if you want to see yourself in the mirror of the bathrooms. The fridge stopped running on Saturday. Was told that it would be at least Monday until someone could look at. Finally seen a switch on the wall that when we turned on the fridge began to run again. Something that would have been nice to have been told about by Anna. All in all I would not recommend this flat if you are looking for a good, quiet nights sleep after a day of sight seeing.

Great location, perfect for families

My family and I stayed in this apartment for 7 nights in June/July. 3 adults and 2 children. The apartment was exactly as described and photographed, very clean and plenty of room for 5 five people. Mary was excellent with communication and answered my emails promptly and all my questions (and I had a lot!) We arrived early in the morning and she had emailed me clear instructions on how to collect the keys and enter the building and the apartment. The location was fantastic, a short walk to the tube and many tourist attractions. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and supermarkets to grab quick dinners after long days out sightseeing. It really felt like we were coming home after being out all day. There is some noise from the street below but that is to be expected in a big city like London! Thank you Mary, we all loved London and your lovely flat. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

Disappointed

We did not have a positive experience staying here. We received an email from the local management firm (realtors office) asking when we expected to arrive in London. I explained we anticipated 2PM but were driving from about 4 hours away. They asked me to call when I was 15 minutes away so we could meet and get the keys. About 30 minutes away, I grabbed my phone to call and saw an email advising the keys were in a lockbox in the building office. Ok, fine I thought. We arrive after 6 hours of driving with the 5 of us and 5 large suitcases standing outside the building but there is no lockbox and see no office. I try calling the manager but there is no answer. I email the manager that we are at the building and we continue to wait in the 90 degree (F) extraordinary London heat. I get a response that the lockbox is at THE REALTORS office which is a 5 minute walk from the apartment. We're tired, hot and have no idea where we are relative to this office. Thank God for google maps! I locate the office and begin walking. My 3 kids and wife are still sitting in the Alley with luggage in the heat. I get to the offiice, find the lock box and put in the code. Nothing happens. I pull on the box, tap on the box, nothing. I recheck my phone to verify the code and Murphy's Law kicks in. The phone dies. So, I walk back to the flat and grab my wife's phone (I had emailed the code to her prior). This time I know the code is right and again walk back to the realtors office. I finally figure out to push the top front portion of the lockbox and the door swings open. We walk back to the flat with keys and try them in the outside door. The keys don't work. Now, I'm really irritated. My son notices some sort of FOB device on the keys and places it next to a keypad outside the door and the door buzzes. We're in! It would have been really nice to have directions for all of this PRIOR to getting there. The flat is nicely decorated and had enough beds for all five of us. Unfortunately, the heat required us to sleep with windows open. The noise is very loud especially the food supply business across the street. Noise subsides around 2AM. The washer and dryer didn't work. The instruction manual to the flat was conveniently hidden under linens. Icing on the cake was no hot water so we couldnt bathe. I explained all of this to Mary (owner). She replied that she was sorry and would promptly return my deposit. Not the response I expected at all.
Owner's Response: Unfortunately, our management firm's hours are until 5pm, which is why we have the lockbox for after-hour arrivals. The key instructions and office directions have not been a problem for other visitors, although I understand a new city in another country can get confusing; especially after a long drive. Our property manager is available after-hours on her mobile for situations that arise, so I am sorry you were unable to connect with her.

I did check on the water heater and our property manager was unaware of your problem. There is a booster switch that can be used when the tank is depleted and we will make certain this is called out for future guests.

We do not have air-conditioning, but there are fans in each of the bedrooms. London was experiencing a heat wave, so I respect that even the fans may not have helped cool it down.

Again, apologies for your disappointment with your stay in London. I am sorry I was not able to rectify the situation and make it a better experience for you and your family

A great flat and neighborhood gem!

From the moment we decided we wanted to stay at this flat Mary was so helpful. She responded to all e-mails. She sent a list of places to eat and shop for food within the neighborhood. The day we arrived we called Angela and she was at the flat within 3 minutes. She let us in and it felt like home. It looked just like the pictures and very clean. Angela showed us around and we enjoyed the flat for 10 days. The location is great. The tube is close and it's very easy to walk to many sights. After a day of sight seeing is was so nice to go back to the flat and relax. We traveled with our two daughters and we were able to spend the evenings together discussing what we did that day and what we may do the next. It is a nice little neighborhood! I would recommend this flat and we would stay here again.
