Native Oregonian from this area. Professionally educated in Oregon and abroad but returned to Salem in 1994. Live in the Bush Park neighborhood 5 blocks away and love this family friendly area so close to Salem's quaint downtown restaurants, theaters and shopping.
Joseph purchased this house in 2012
We live and work in this very neighborhood and know first hand how convenient and desirable a location it is. Less than a 5 minute drive to Willamette University, Salem Hospital complex, Downtown Salem and the State Capitol. Also a 5 block walk to the 90 acre urban Bush Park with its Rose Garden, Art Barn, Historic Bush House and a soap box derby track. A 5 minute drive to the scenic Minto Brown-Island Park which is adjacent to the Willamette River where you will find miles and miles of excellent paved biking and walking trails or the River Front Park on the Willamette. Walk or bicycle across the amazing foot bridge where a train once shuttled residents from West Salem to Downtown Salem.
Location. Location. Location. The five star reviews speak for themselves, but the convenience to downtown Salem and the central location in the Willamette Valley make this property ideal for any visit to this beautiful Oregon. Excellent base for trips to the Stunning Oregon Coast, the beautiful Oregon Wine Country, or day hiking in Silver Falls State Park. Close to great restaurants, parks and quaint neighborhoods in Fairmont Hills, Bushes Pasture Park and downtown Salem.
Jeff and I enjoyed our time there in July, and are interested in another trip next year.
Please let me know if that property is available
This home was perfect in every way for our family. Centrally located for quick trips to visit relatives and friends. Clean and cozy - a home away from home. So happy to have found this gem - we will be back!
Our family of 6 really loved the features, the updates to the kitchen and baths were especially nice. The Aerobed was comfy and so were the other beds. It was well stocked with the sundries e.g.: shampoo, dish/bath soap, spices, plates, cups, kitchen utensils. The location was perfect, as we had a Rehearsal dinner at The Best Little Roadhouse and that was within walking distance. The stairs to the 2nd floor was a little steep, but we got used to them. Overall a great abode for a family vacation. The owner Joseph was very responsive to the email requests. I hope to stay there in the future
My wife and I recently relocated to Oregon, and this lovely little home was our base as we transitioned to our new life in the area. The house is nestled in a nice little neighborhood in Central Salem, just minutes away from downtown, Willamette University and Bush Park. The owners keep a very clean home, complete with all the amenities that you would ever need. The master suite upstairs is big and bright with a really cool bathroom with a frosted glass tile wall, letting in lots of light while maintaining privacy. There is a nice little backyard that would be great for grilling and hanging out in the summer months. We really loved the kitchen, and when we weren't eating out, we made some meals in the well appointed space. They even had an aeropress! We also spent many nights in watching movies on the big flat screen in the cozy living room. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and felt right at home here, wishing that it could be our forever home. I highly recommend checking out this place, especially as the weather is getting warmer and Oregon is so beautiful! A great place for a trip!
Great time in Portland for a wedding. The owner was responsive and informative with all transaction emails and information.
The house is really beautiful, and fit 6 of us very comfortably. It has a new feel to it when looking at the paint, the cleanliness, the shower, etc. Good common area, great seating, awesome ceiling fans, the only issue that I can see the owner is battling with is ants. It wasn't a full on problem, but there were a few spottings of ants on counters and floors. Overall, not a big complaint, and there are traps, so I suspect this may be seasonal or get fixed.
Yes, I enjoyed my first ever visit to Salem and this house made the trip all the better. The house is nicely located between downtown and some nice, old-fashioned neighborhoods. I parked my car for the week and used it only once for groceries. I walked or biked easily everywhere. This old house has been beautifully and functionally updated and worked well our visit. Not big, but just the right size with all the amenities that we needed. Thanks for having us.
This was a perfect small house rental. Nicely updated and renovated, very well maintained and supplied with all the essentials. We were perfectly comfortable here for a two-week stay, even during some unusually hot days in August. Because we have family nearby in Salem and visit often, we'll definitely consider a repeat stay.
Oregon's Famous Wine country begins on the outskirts of Salem a very short drive away. Sample amazing cheeses at the Willamette Cheese Factory on your way out. Visit the locals farmers markets for amazing bounty of berries, fruits, veggies and local meats.
