Ideal location in the city
We can't say enough wonderful things about this beautiful apartment in the heart of everything. As a family of 5, we enjoyed the location, which is near everything you would want to see. The apartment was spotless (very clean), updated bathroom and kitchen facilities, comfortable bedding and lovely décor. Clearly, this property has been well-maintained. We felt immediately at home.
The location is perfect with wonderful restaurants and shops just outside the front door. We were grateful for the accurate online description and would highly recommend to friends and family. Thank you and we plan to reserve another stay in this apartment!
We agree with other reviews posted - clean, comfortable, modern, large apartment. Owner and staff are incredible honest, flexible and available. Customer service is clearly important to them. We bought groceries (nearby) and stocked the fridge for breakfast.
We recommend buying the tourist pass - we used it all (walked up the grand cathedral, share a bike (4 hours for free), museums and boat ride. So many cafes and restaurants you can find a variety of prices and types.
While the street is quaint and fairly quiet, note that this location is in the heart of a tourist area and it gets quiet around midnight and starts up again around 8:30 a.m., so if you like to go to sleep early be aware. Otherwise, it was a pleasure to hear voices and clinking of wine glasses in this place of paradise. Also note it is a two floor walk up (not for people with disabilities or those not willing to climb stairs).
We began our yearly two week sojourn to France this year in Strasbourg and spent 4 nights at this exceptional apartment. In a timbered building in La Petite France, it was immaculate, charming and fun. How many places have you stayed where the floor in the bedroom has a distinctive slant to the bathroom.
The location is outstanding. We had several top reviewed Trip Advisor restaurants (Perles de Saveurs and Vince'Stub ) just across the street and around the block. Dined at both and were not disappointed. The apartment was not that far from the Cathedral and the Tourist Office.
If you are in Strasbourg on vacation and are not staying here, then you are cheating yourself out of a wonderful experience.
Only wonderful things to say about this apartment. It was very clean and comfortable. We did not have any problems or hassles at all. Very easy walk to all the things you'd want to see and do in Strasbourg. I'd stay here again in a second! Delphine and Manon were super easy to work with. I would recommened this place with no hesitations at all.
This is a beautiful apartment in the heart of Petite-France. Shops, charming restaurants and a small wine/produce grocery store are within steps on a pedestrian cobble stone street. The winding rough-hew stairs that take you up to the apartment are right out of a history book. The apartment itself is a wonderful blend of rustic timbered walls and charming modern décor. The kitchens very good quality utensils and the excellent quality of food sold at the local shops made cooking our Coq au vin Christmas day dinner a joy. I highly recommend this property.
I would also like to thank the very nice waiter at Lohkäs Restaurant, located just down the street, for squeezing us in without a reservation on Christmas Eve. He proved how generous and kind the French people really are and made our Christmas in France a lifetime memory.
We had a nice time in Strasbourg at this unit in a very convenient location, a short walk to the Grand Rue, and from there to the cathedral. The river is even closer, as are a lot of restaurants. Supermarket a short stroll away, as is a laundromat (nothing in the unit). The unit itself is large, clean, and decently furnished. Bed was comfortable. Noise from street not bad, though an occasional loud group late at night. SThe place is managed remotely, with some local help in the form of a nice woman studying at the university. She met us and showed us the unit. Unfortunately, she had to return on an emergency basis -- the 1st night, we discovered that the shower drain was clogged, and the design of the shower makes it hard to notice that water is flooding out into the bathroom (and from there, into the hallway, and into the unit below, who was nice about the leak). We had to call the student and mop up with all our towels. She came around by lunchtime the next day and unclogged the drain, after which we could finally take a shower. From then on, all was ok, but took a little while to get resolved, a bit of a disadvantage with remote mgt. So if you rent this unit, be sure to check that the shower is draining properly!
