|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Beautiful Ocean and Mountain views.
This modern, 5500 square foot villa, has everything you need to have a truely relaxing and memorial 'real' Costa Rican vacation away from the crowds. Secure, private, and relaxing. Located on 60 acres of your own lush jungle paradise.
Perfect for families, friends, or couples that just want to 'get away from it all' and enjoy.
The two story house has an oversized master bedroom on the upper floor with an oversized California King bed. The master bath, with tub and shower, is stunning. 3 sets of beautiful teak double doors open onto a complete wrap around balcony, perfect for stargazing and viewing the lights of the valley below. AIr conditioning is included for those who wish, but with the doors open and the fans on you'll sleep like a baby. There is an office desk and wifi for those who feel the need to keep up with the outside world.
The second and third bedrooms, though smaller, are equally as comfortable, with queen sized beds, air conditioners, and access to the balcony.
The second bathroom which has a huge walk in shower, is located here.
The fourth bedroom is located downstairs, and also has a queen sized bed. Although there is no air conditioning in this room, you really don't need it as a fan is all it takes to keep nice and comfortable.
A half bath, as well as laundry facilities are located adjacent.
The kitchen is modern and well equipped, with marble countertops, and a gas stovetop and electric range. All necessary appliances, plates, silverware, etc. are included. The stainless steel dishwasher and refrigerator/freezer will keep you going.
The dining area is quite comfortable with two tables that sit four each, and a bar with two stools.
The living area is also quite comfortable with two couches, a chair and a 42 inch flat screen TV with cable, stereo and DVD player for your viewing pleasure. That's if you can drag yourself inside long enough to watch something, as most guests just want to be outside at the pool area.
The bottom floor double doors open onto a complete wrap around deck and the beautiful infinity edge pool. The pool has a built in waterfall and swim jet package. It is the perfect place to watch the sun rise and set while enjoying the views with a cup of coffee or a toddy in your hand. There is ample seating on the deck for intimate conversation or partying with your friends. Jump in the pool or catch some rays on our comfortable reclining lounge chairs.
If your party is extra large there is an adjacent managers apartment that we sometimes use. Though not as extravagent as the main house, it is quite comfortable with it's own kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
We can also arrange transfers to and from the airport in San Jose.
Attractions: Being midway between the two largest beach towns on the Pacific offers many attractions.
Jaco and Quepos offer the best restaurants and nightlife on the coast. Manuel Antonio the best beaches and coves. Los Suenos Resort and Marina, the best in all Central America, includes a world-class marina and championship golf course. The brand new marina in Quepos, Marina Pez Zela, along with Los Suenos, make this area one of the most wonderful bases of operation for sports fishing and snorkeling in all the world.
Adjacent to the estate is Sky Mountain Canopy, which boasts the highest, longest, and best zip line in all of Costa Rica. Paid admission to the canopy tour includes beautiful hiking trails and a real nice waterfall. We can walk, drive, or ride the horses to the waterfall. There is also a wonderful waterfall with 3 different pools (Tres Pilas) at the base of the hill. It is an easy drive and easy hike to these falls.
There are probably a dozen different beaches just a short half hour drive from the estate.
Some are perfect for swimming and some are world class surf beaches. All are great for picnics, walking, and watching the sun set. Playa Palo Seco, just outside Parrita, and Esterillos to our west, both have several little resorts with wonderful restaurants for memorial sunset dining. Parrita and Playon closer to the hill have many very good Tico restaurants for those who prefer the local cusine and culture.
We offer the use of our Toyota Prado Landcruiser (7 passenger) including driver, for only $150 per day (compare that to Budget or Alamo $150 per day w/no driver). You pay only for the days you need the car. You also pay for the gas. We will take you anywhere you wish to go or show you how to get there. If you have a larger group, we can arrange transfers with a very reliable local driver.
We know a lot of cool places to go and you just sit back and relax.
Driving in CR can be quite the stress-filled adventure, especially at night.
We offer our SUV and driver as an alternative to you having to rent a car.
A few reasons this works for some people:
(1) We pick you up and drop you off at the airport, no hasseling at the car rental
(2) We usually know where we are going, lol.
(3) Bless their hearts, the ticos are the worlds worst drivers
(4) Many of our guests tend to enjoy the nightlife and CR has just recently enacted very stiff DUI penalties so the guests would prefer to just sit back and enjoy the ride. You also just pay for the car the days you use it.
We can usually get you a more affordable rate on transfers locally then you can get on your own.
When you decide on the exact dates we will send you a rental
agreement. You execute the agreement and send it back to us.
We require a 50% deposit forwarded to us.
When the funds are posted your rental date is confirmed. The balance will be due ,and payable in US$ funds upon your arrival in Costa Rica.
Email us back and leave a call back number should you have any further questions.
Talk to you soon.

Keywords: Thank you for your inquiry into our vacation rental house, villa, estate. Our guests tell us they see more wildlife during their stay here at the estate than any of the tours they go on. It is a birders paradise and a wildlife lovers dream. There is usually a plethora of butterflies, birds of all kinds, monkeys, iguana’s, and other wildlife for your viewing pleasure. We have stables with 5 horses here on the estate and the younger people really enjoy hanging out with the herd. The estate is in the mountains a 30 minute drive to several beaches. Much closer to the estate there are several waterfalls and a major river. The estate is 25 minutes to Parrita, which is then 20 minutes to Quepos or 30 minutes to Jaco and 2 hours to the airport in San Jose.
We are Randy and Claudia Dains from Idaho, partners in Casa Brisas de la Montana, along with Vern Eames, also from Idaho.
It is our goal here at Casa Brisas to make sure that you have the greatest experience possible on your vacation to beautiful Costa Rica. When you leave we want you to leave with a smile on your face and a treasure trove full of wonderful memories. We, like Disneyland, want to be known as the 'happiest place on earth'.
The Owner purchased this villa in 2010
We chose Casa Brisas de la Montana because of the absolutely stunning beauty and tranquility of the area. The local 'Ticos' are absolutely the best, most genuine people you will ever want to meet. Living here on 'the hill' is a dream come true for my wife and I.
Secluded, beautiful estate that is close enough to all the major tourist areas to make them easily accessable for a truly exciting vacation. But best of all, they are also easily escapeable for a truely relaxing vacation. You get the best of both!
Well, this was our 4th annual trip to the casa. As always, Randy and Claudia are wonderful hosts. I cannot add much to the positive comments I have made in the past. How can you top perfection each time. We wouldn't keep coming back if we didn't like everything about it so much. This time we stayed 3 weeks and had new friends/family come in and out each week. This time one of the couples that came with us got married on the beach on Feb 14th. Randy and Claudia and their connections made this such an easy thing to plan ahead and all went perfectly !! Make sure you go up the hill a little further one night to see the sunset in Las Mesas. Also DO a daytime monkey tour around Damas island. We love the fact that we go into the monkey's environment, have a visit with them and leave them to their peace. Much better than trained tame ones living in a human world.
Just spent 10 beautiful days 'on the hill' in Parrita, and want to share how this property/experience is simply superior to others you may be looking at:
1) Logistically speaking, it's near enough to the airport that you're not stuck spending a night in San Jose before and after you arrive in country. The new intercoastal highway makes for an easy commute (no off-roading required).
2) Parrita is a full-service town (gas, groceries, shops, many good restaurants), but it's no tourist trap--it's a small tico town, no drama, no inflated prices. If you WANT to do the touristy stuff, you're sitting right between Jaco and Manuel Antonio/Quepos.... easy drive to either of these spots.
3) Being on the hill means breezes and a surprising lack of bugs. On the hill, we didn't need bug repellent at all, slept with the doors wide open, never saw a mosquito, and the no-see-ums weren't at all obnoxious or aggressive. No need for an air conditioner.... even during the day the breezes kept us cool.
4) Use of Randy's Toyota is a humongous perk; the fact that Randy can come WITH the Toyota is an even bigger perk!! We knocked around a couple times on our own, but for the most part, we had a chauffeur (familiar with tico driving ;-) and tour guide at our disposal for the entire weekend! This is priceless, honestly. We wouldn't have known where to go, what to see, what to do if it hadn't been for Randy and Claudia's "spoiling" us with careful attention during our stay. We'd have had a VERY different vacation without our hosts' recommendations and assistance--not a bad one (sitting around on the veranda and just marveling at the views does NOT get old, and every sunrise and sunset is as gorgeous as the one before). We're glad we got out of the house, though.
5) Honestly cannot stress enough that this location is delightful for its absence of tourist craziness. We walked a 5 mile stretch of beach one day and saw a handful of folks surfing at one beach and NO ONE else for the remainder of the hike. These are gorgeous sandy beaches, and I am still dumbfounded that we had them all to ourselves!
6) You have everything at your fingertips--lounging and relaxing, surfing, hiking, ziplining, horseback riding, fishing, national park, gorgeous beaches, beautiful marina, authentic tico living... You write your own vacation, and Randy and Claudia will make sure it happens for you.
Our visit was perfection+; we'll be back again and again.
My husband and I spent a week in this exceptional casa with six of our adult children and my mother. A relaxing time for all ages. Multiple beaches close enough for the kids to travel to and enjoy, lots of activities (zipline, parks, shopping) to choose from; but my favorite was just sitting around the pool and enjoying the peace, quiet, rain and view.
It did rain in the afternoons, a warm rain although I never had to take off my swimming suit!! Accommodations were as advertised and we could not have asked for better guidance from Randy and Vern. This was our first trip to Costa Rica -- Randy/Vern were exceptional at communicating before, during and after our trip! Many helpful tips/suggestions to make the trip enjoyable from start to finish. THANK YOU!
My husband would like to return in order to explore all Costa Rica has to offer - now that is saying something!!
Our family of 8: my husband, myself and our three grown children and their spouses were looking for a special Christmas destination this year, away from the cold of the Northeast and Canada, and couldn't have been more pleased that we found the perfect spot, Randy and Claudia’s Casa Brisas. This was the first trip to Costa Rica for all of us and we wanted opportunities for some adventures (like deep sea fishing, surfing and zip-lining) and also a comfortable place for some downtime, away from the crowds and bustle of beach towns. This beautiful home suited our needs perfectly. The setting is idyllic, with views over the Pacific, toucans and other birds in the trees, hammocks to lounge on for reading and a fantastic infinity pool ready to jump in day or evening. The house had 4 large private bedrooms, so each couple had at least a queen size bed and privacy. The decks, balconies and grounds gave everyone a chance to sit peacefully and read or go for a quiet walk. We had originially thought we would be going into town in the evenings for dinner, but in fact, it was so beautiful at the house that after a day’s adventures, we were happy to settle in, cook in the well-equipped kitchen, talk, star gaze, swim and relax. I also cannot complete a note on the house without mentioning, as others have before me, how helpful Randy and Claudia were to our family. Starting with working with me months in advance on planning, Randy gave me many suggestions for tour operators for activities like deep sea fishing and zip-lining that I am glad we booked in advance, as Christmas week is busy. Randy met us at the airport, with the Toyota and escorted us down the coast. He really thought of everything, including arranging to make sure we had some food in the house for breakfast. Randy was just a huge help keeping things on track when one of the couple’s flight was delayed and we had to arrange a taxi for them, he even went into town himself late in the evening to drive the late arrivers up to the house… Try getting service like that at a big hotel!! Having the option to use the Toyota SUV while at the house is a great perk too. My husband and I did rent a car and the kids used Toyota for transportation, so we were all able to head out on separate adventures and have easy travel room for all 8 of us. Do rent an SUV if you plan to rent a car, as you will need it to navigate the roads. Don't hesitate to rent this lovely house, you'll have a great time.
My parents, three young children and I sure did have our biggest adventure yet in the beautiful mountains of Costa Rica!! This is an absolutely beautiful home with all of the amenities you need...and more. We swam in the fantastic infinity pool every day to cool down, watched and listened to the wildlife as we relaxed in the hammocks, rode horses with Oscar, and picked our daily fruits with Tomas. The use of the car was perfect as we traveled to Manuel Antonio, the local school, towns, shopping, beaching, boating, zip-lining, etc. This house is perfect for everyone...young and old, adventurous and timid, active and pool floaters.
Our favorite memory is that the six year old little boy decided to bring his bride to "this beautiful house for his marriage." =)
We could simply go on for days! Six Stars!!!!
This was my greatest stay ever in any place in Costa Rica. I'm from San José Costa Rica, and I wanted to take some friends from Ecuador, Cuba and Guatemala to meet the Pacific Coast. It was great. The view was magnifictent, and the place was really beautiful. Also, Randy and Claudia were the greatest hosts ever. They took really good care of us, recommended a lot of places to visit, didn't mind the noise we did at night, and personally took us around to get to know the place. The only thing you may complaint about is that you need a long drive to get there, and the road isn't that nice either if you have a low car, but once you arrive, I promise you'll have a magnificent time.
