A private year-round waterfront vacation home. Located only 9 miles from Alpena, MI. Only 90 south of Mackinac City. This property offers over 115 feet of waterfront on Brothers Bay Point. A sandy beach area for swimming.

Fishing is close from the docks or boat. Fish species include Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Pumpkinseed Sunfish, Rock Bass and Yellow Perch. Alpena also offers Lake Huron charter fishing or scuba diving Thunder Bay Shipwrecks. Watercrafts are available,16 foot pontoon, 14 aluminum boat w/motor, canoe or Zodiac inflatable. Cedar picnic table, 3 decks, chairs, beach towels. Outdoor cooking with gas or charcoal grills.

While the sliding French Doors from the main entrance give a panoramic 180 degree view of Long Lake from Brothers Bay Point. The main deck and docks are covered with white vinyl. The interior is a collection of aromatic red and white cedar 1/2 logs and paneling.

Further Details: Overhead the ceilings are covered with random widths of white aspen boards.

The Kitchen and major appliances are all new. Bamboo Woven Roman shades covering the wood casement windows. The building has a new Radiant Heated floor system. A family weekend get-away, the summer vacationer, sportman, hunters, snowmobilers, ice fishermen welcome. Three day, extended weekend, weekly or monthly rates.

About The Owner: Owner of the Vacation Home on Long Lake. Likes bird watching and watersports. Mostly, boating on both inland lakes and that of Lake Huron. Enjoys exploring the ship wrecks of the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Taking the Fall color tours in Mid-September. The annual Lighthouse Festival & Tour.

Peaceful retreat on the lake

We enjoyed our stay at Brothers Bay Point. The lake view was beautiful and the home is very quaint and nicely decorated. We docked our boat in front of the house and our grandson fished all week. Fred was helpful and extremely knowledgable about the area and offered great advise when we needed repairs on our boat. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for peace and quiet and good fishing.

Stayed here Summer 2012. Perfect cottage, great view, docks for boats. Great drinking water, softened water, washer dryer were handy. Nice decor, pictures really do not due the view justice. The owner lives onsite, very friendly. Sandy beach, yes, I guess, technically. Not really a place you can place your lawn chair and let your kid frolic in the water, as the sandy beach is maybe 20 feet between two boat docks and once in the water it is rocky. Therefore, I would not recommend this for parents who want their kids to play on a sandy beach for a week. It worked for us because we went in to Alpena every day and had other things planned. We enjoyed ourselves.

Relaxing getaway

We recentely stayed at Brothers bay point during Memorial weekend 2012. The photos showed a lake view from the livingroom and this was the deciding factor when we booked. I have to say from the moment we walked through the door we were impressed. There is a view of water from almost every window! I have never been to Alpena before and there wasn't too much going on...which was perfect! It was such a relaxing weekend. Fishing, bonfires, grilling and a whole lot of nothing. It rained one full day we were there but the owner, Fred, has pretty much thought of everything (books to read, games to play). We watched tv and played monoply that day and it happened to be one of the highlights of the weekend. I love this place and plan on returning.. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing getaway!!

Ive rented this cottage twice now. Its a fantastic place with everything you need. I will continue to come back year after year. Great price for a great cottage with an amazing view.

Brothers Bay Point Country Lake Living

This is a small Michigan country lake cottage that has been totally and tastefully renovated. The best part was being right on the lake, with access to the finest fishing hole in the area. We even caught fish right from the dock, although the owner has a boat that you can reasonably rent. (Get your fishing license on-line before you go.) If you don't catch your own dinner, one of the best restaurants in town is about a mile away, right on the water. You can also get there by boat! There's a country store nearby, too. We never went into the town the whole time we were there because it was just too nice to leave. We did spend part of one day touring the nearby lighthouses on Lake Huron. Plenty of space for three adults, couple, couple with 2 teenagers or family with small kids. However, the more people, the less living space. Would love to return in the future.
