About Sandy Radke
Our family has long history and great love for Lake George.
We have owned this property since the 1960's and before that we were island campers. Quiet, low key living close to nature is a joy to us.
We also lived in nearby Vermont for eight years when we first owned the property and still enjoy visits to that beautiful state while we vacation at Lake George.
Soon after acquiring our property we discovered the Silver Bay Association and became Chippies and Woozles, made snake rings and baskets at the SBA craft shop, played shuffleboard and tennis, went to concerts and made many friends.
One of us now lives in Australia and it is great to all get together at the lake, relax and take in the scenery.
We can tell you a great deal about the region in order that your stay as interesting, enjoyable and memorable as possible.
Sandy Radke purchased this cabin in 1963
Why Sandy Radke chose Huletts Landing
Lake George has to be one of the most beautiful lakes in the world and my family has been fortunate to have known it since the 1950's . Living in Vermont at the time, we were only 1 1/2 hours drive away and were able to visit frequently.
We were lucky, then, to know someone who was selling this parcel of land and here we are still !.
What makes this cabin unique
What do we like about our summers at Silver Bay? To be able to take a swim when we want, hop in a canoe or kayak, or just sit and gaze at the Lake for a start. Sitting by the campfire, gazing at a glorious star filled or moonlit night... hearing a downy woodpecker, a loon or the lake lapping at the shore...watching a humming bird, firefly or cheeky chipmunk. Seeing the Mohican sail by at noon, taking a hike to Uncas lookout, visiting charming Vermont or the stunning Adirondack high country.
Lake George has much history and if you listen you can hear the lake and mountains talk. Our property used to be part of the old Mohican House resort of the early 1800's and some remnants still remain. In fact, our cabins were part of this era.
We have met many friends here and some are long term guests of our cottage. We hope you will join us soon.
