CHARMING TROPICAL BEACH PARADISE

I stayed with my husband and 2 boys 13 and 11yrs for 5 nights in August 2012 and can thoroughly recommend this lovey beach home.

The facilities provided are as described and it was very clean and well maintained with comfortable beds/bedding. The outside area is lovely with an excellent range of chairs and tables. The lighting and BBQ are both really good. My boys made good use of the hot tub and the boogie boards all at the back of the property. I used the washer and dryer which again were good. Wifi was used and worked well, we did not use the TV or the DVD player.

Although the owner described the property to me as a flat, it felt more like a small cottage and we had use of the front outside area to ourselves. (The home is attached at the back to another flat, but I don't know if this is rented out or just used by the owners periodically.)

The area is superb. Central for beaches and easy to get into the village and indeed San Diego. La Jolla is really lovely. We used the beaches in Mission and La Jolla shores for swimming. The beach down the road (Windandsea I think) was a hot spot for surfers, but I felt too dangerous for the boys to swim. We BBQ'd and cooked in most nights (kitchen was good) but we did eat out in San Diago old town which are mexican restaurants, worth a visit, good but quantity over quality I felt.

We had one small problem with the electricity trip switches when we arrive from the UK and the owner responded immediately to my cry's for help by cellphone offering the support of her son in person if required, which it was not.

The only negative (and it is a very small one) was the aircon which was quite noisy and not that effective in the central living space (bedrooms was effective). The ceiling fans are very good and we used these at night which were more than adequate for keeping cool during the night. This would certainly not put me off returning.

Can highly recommend La Jolla and this rental. My family and I would definitely return.
