Overview

Tulum House Rental Photos and Description

House, 1 Bedroom + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-4)

Tucked in amongst the palms, in front of the sea, Casita Bonita is perfectly placed and proportioned to suit its environment. Soft sensuous lines give this modern post and beam home a clean, breezy, tropical feel.

With 2 floors, large palapa roof, 1 ½ bedrooms and 2 baths, Casita Bonita is small enough to feel cozy, yet large enough for families and intimate dinner parties. Open the glass doors of the living area and let in the dappled sunlight in the morning and the starlight at night.

Behind the kitchen is a small, open room with a second sleeping area (with one large bed or 2 singles, by request). It’s the perfect place for the kids to sleep, for you to curl up for an afternoon siesta, watch a video or to invite a friend to spend the night.

Climb the indoor staircase to the gorgeous, spacious and sexy master bedroom under the large palapa roof. 4 large glass doors open to your private balcony over looking the sea. Let the sounds of the ocean and the rustle of the palms sooth you to sleep.

Excellent cross ventilation and ceiling fans make this house easy to live in, even in the hottest weather. Tasteful, decorative lighting creates warm intimate spaces throughout the house. A private pathway thru the greenery leads to your own palapa beach umbrella just 30’ in front of the Casita. The house has 24 hour electricity and wifi.

Casita Bonita is a treat, a joy and a delight to spend time in.

About The Owner

My name is Snow and I manage the bookings at the Casita Bonita. I have been coming to this property for over 13 years when my parents first bought the land. As a family we have walked this beach and played in the waves for many years. My own children (now 8 & 11) have enjoyed the warm water and soft sand since they were babies. I love the stunning beach and the simplicity of Tulum. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. When I am not on the beach I live in BC, Canada with my family enjoying the outdoors.

The Owner purchased this house in 2002

Why The Owner chose Tulum

I love the location of this property. It is safe, friendly, close to restaurants, and on a mellow part of the beach. The sand of Tulum is soft and white and the sea is warm and great for boogie boarding, body surfing, kayaking, and even kiteboarding when its windy. On calm days it is an amazing natural pool for swimming and snorkelling.

What makes this house unique

Casita Bonita is a well-designed intimate home great for couples or a small family. Bright, sunny and private, the house is alive with warmth, light and colour. Located right on the beach with foliage for privacy Casita Bonita has the perfect location. When the glass doors to the front are opened, you are connected to the beach in a magical way. Up the stairs in the stunning, private, romantic bedroom and the rest of the world drops away. Your own house in paradise.

Just perfect!

I rented this house for a quiet get-away with my 80-something mother, my brother and I - who all live in different locations in the US. We had an absolutely magnificent time. The house, beach and town are fabulous. The booking process was very easy, and we were greeted with wonderful hospitality. I cant say enough good things, we would definitely return.

Paradise found

  • 5 of 5

Snow was super easy to deal with in the booking. Caty was the property manager on site at the time. She was amazing (especially when my wife fell ill). Even met Bob - a cool cat who is the owner and I think built the place; lives in Vancouver. Great stories of the area he shared.

The house is great. Upstairs master is amazing. Great breeze. Nice view. We have two small kids so they shared the bed under the stairs. Kitchen is good size. Outdoor shower is handy and downstairs patio is dreamy.

Staff cleaned daily. They know some English (property manager speaks fluent English, by the way)...and I knew enough Spanish to converse with them. They are all very sweet. And not intrusive at all.

Anyhow this stretch of beach is killer. Mostly small hotels. And very few homes... so you feel special. Walk to restaurants (be careful walking at night; cars and such) and bars. Bike to a little mini-mart with cold cervezas in a reach in ice chest. Some cool art stores, too. Tulum beach road has some of the best food I have had anywhere (including Paris, Madrid, Rome, and parts in between). Seriously I kid you not. But it can also cost as much. There are cheaper places too...so don't feel like you are stuck. There is good pizza and other beachy fare. My advice is you need to balance that out with trips into the pueblo. Stock up on food at St Francis market or the local big box (Cheduria I think its called? Its like WalMart).

The pueblo also has great food, local color and WAY cheaper. We were there during World Cup which added to the color. Visit Batey for a fresh mojito served out of the back of a VW beetle. Love that place. Within a two block area you can get a killer crepe, a quality espresso, tapas in a mom and pop restaurant and of course, giant tortas. (USD is king on the beach road. Pesos rule in town). We had a car which worked for us. Healthier folks could bike to town (30 mins I'd say); but no chance at my age.

Tulum is awesome. Do yourself a favor at least once in your life, and get off the resort and rent a house. We stayed 10 days and did a cenote, snorkeled out on the reef, climbed the ruins in Coba and more (3-day side-trip to Merida canceled due to illness. Yes...sangria is great in town. But be careful of the ice.)....and by day 2 we felt like a local.

Not a day goes by I don't dream about our slice of paradise. Thanks, Snow. I hope we can return next year.

Besos,

Brendan

Slice of Heaven

  • 4 of 5

My family and I stayed her Nov 19th-28th and had a wonderful time. My two children 5 and 7 were so excited to wake up every morning and walk about 15 steps to the beach. The house was great, beds were very comfortable and it was a perfect spot for a family of 4. All of our favorite eatery's were within walking distance. The property is well decorated and the staff is very helpful with your needs. We are not a fan of the all-inclusive resorts so this was a perfect fit for us. We are already planning our trip next year!

PERFECT LITTLE SPOT IN HEAVEN

  • 5 of 5

This was our first stay at Casa Bonita and before our stay was over, we were booking our next stay.

This property is the perfect location on the beach road.... The home itself is creatively decorated and cleverly constructed. Laying on the beach is 3 seconds away....With it literally being less than 20 steps from the house step to the beach lounge chair. The property itself has great energy and the people who care for it are very kind and helpful. We will back again and again!

Casita Bonita is our home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

Tulum is our favorite vacation destination and we are so happy to have found Casita Bonita! I would consider ourselves independent travelers. We prefer to rent privately owned properties and explore a city on our own, hanging out where locals do versus staying at all-inclusive resorts and going on group tours.

We’ve rented Casita Bonita twice and consider it our home away from home. From the planning and reservations to the check-in and departure, the owners and management are helpful and go out of their way to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. The kitchen is fully-equipped and there’s a BBQ grill in case you feel like cooking. And one of the best amenities is the private palapas, beach loungers, boogie boards, kayaks, and outdoor showers. Bonus: there were plenty of sand toys for our 3 yr old son!

We love the location of this house, especially because it’s situated on a very large white sand beach, in a convenient area just walking distance from all the cool restaurants and boutiques like La Troupe, Simple, Casa Banana, La Zebra, Hartwood, Casa Jaguar, just to name a few.

The beds are super comfortable and they provide high-quality linens and towels. The house and grounds are very well-maintained. The groundskeepers did a great job of cleaning the beach (removing kelp/ seaweed) every morning and housekeepers are friendly and keep the house fresh and clean.

I highly recommend Casita Bonita for families with 1-2 kids, friends or two couples sharing who want to truly experience paradise with a laid, back vibe.
