I live in Cordele, Georgia with my wife and three children (16, 14 and 8). I have grown up in the hospitality business developing hotels. I am a pilot and this makes it easy for me to check on the houses on a regular basis.
Greg Turton purchased this house in 2012
I completed Seaside in 2012. We purchased this property because of it's view and access to a large dock. If I were purchasing a lot on Guana today, I would choose this same area. It is the perfect distance from the settlement.
Seaside overlooks Fisher's Bay. Sailboats come in and anchor throughout the day. There is not a better view of the sunset than from our back deck!
We vacationed here with my wife, my teenage son and two of his friends. This was an incredible experience. The boys can't wait to go back. The island is beautiful - spectacular actually - and the accommodations were perfect. Seaside is very clean and comfy. Even though you are on a remote island you have all the features of home - internet - TV - great kitchen. We fished, swam and went snorkeling and enjoyed Nippers and Grabbers. My wife took several books and spent the days on the unbelievably beautiful beach lounging and reading. Everybody was happy - Happy Wife - Happy teenage boys - made for a memorable vacation and a husband that looked like a hero for finding Guana and Seaside!
The sunsets were breathtaking! My 16 year old and 6 year old had a blast too! We loved having washer & dryer access as well as ice maker! What more could we ask for!?!
We came back again this year as just a family of four we brought 10 with us last time and just like last time we had the perfect vacation! The owner could not be more hospitable he is incredible and will do anything to make you happy. Having the boat was great again we went to Spoil Cay, Treasure Cay Hope Town, Lubbers Tahiti beach and Scotland Cay!! We saw octopus squid sea turtles dolphins lobsters hermit crabs sharks barracuda garfish triggerfish Pluma porgy stingrays and much more. Thank you for another wonderful vacation in Great Guana paradise ....it is very special spot to our family! I highly highly recommend this to anyone wanting to go to great Guana there's nothing not to like! You too will fall in love with this place and want to go back year after year!!!
My wife and I spent our first Bahamian get away this past week at Seaside...been all over the Caribbean scuba diving but found a jewel at Great Guana Cay...many amenities with the property such as personal golf cart (mode of Guana travel), Atlantic beach access and absolutely beautiful sunsets from the deck!!....went lobstering and island hopping (many within 20 minute trip)...would have gone fishing off shore but ran out of time (rental boats close by)...grocery store on island (5 minutes by golf cart)...several Bahamian-style restaurants (and shops) including world famous Nippers on the beach (dont miss famous Sunday afternoon beach pig roast)..fly in to Marsh Harbor Airport and take convenient 30 minute trip by ferry to Guana Cay...will return soon for a longer stay!!!
We rented this home for our family vacation this year and we could not have been more UNHAPPY and DISAPPOINTED. The trip began when the owner came in the back door and to our HORROR informed us they live on the first floor of this home. (Duplex) They also had additional people (7 people) staying under our rental during our entire eight night stay. There was no privacy and we had great concerns for the safety and well being of our two sons and their grandmother! They have an industrial ice maker located under our kitchen window that they allow anyone from the island to come and get ice from at all hours of the day and night. We felt it was not safe and we were wary with the flow of strangers at our property. We could not even enjoy the deck, as people were always around. We were not informed of the active roof leak in the living room and we woke to find our personal belongs soaked. We placed a five gallon bucket under the leak and had three inches of water in it. We notified the property manager and his reply was, "The owner should have informed you of that". There are broken items everywhere: such as door handles missing (making it difficult to shut doors), closet doors broken and laying inside closet, handles missing on kitchen range, broken and poor condition patio furniture...(photos upon request) There is no TV anywhere in the living room, dining room, kitchen area. No where to sit and unwind and enjoy the weather/news. The master bath door does not open because the toilet is placed off the wall and the door hits the toilet. Therefor making it hard to use the bathroom. There are no side tables by the master bed and no where to place a glass of water. But what sent me over the top was when my boys were sleeping at 8:15am the owner and three men decided to install hurricane shutters to the house while they were sleeping! (Even though there was No hurricane threat!) This continued even after we requested them to stop. When we would return from our boat we found people working inside on the screened patio on our floor! I was even asked if I would be leaving soon so they would not be interrupted while they were working. This property is described as, "One of the newest houses on Guana Cay" but the truth is it is in need of extensive repairs! I went on the patio in the morning with coffee and I was uncomfortably greeted by three unknown men in the back yard! There was NO privacy, and no respect was afforded to us as occupants of this property.
Had a spectacular stay at Seaside! Access to our boat made it easy to get on the water anytime. Weather was perfect for us and the view from this house left you speechless. We will be back to enjoy another stay very soon.
