I am an airline pilot who fell in love with Lake Powell over 20 years ago. I enjoy houseboating on the Lake, exploring the vast selection of canyons and all of the water sports. With a new vacation home I look forward to ATVing, mountain biking, running the RIM trail and exploring the Great Circle!
Sheree Matheson purchased this house in 2011
Owning a houseboat at Wahweap and having been captivated by the Lake and the surrounding desert for 20 years, I wanted to create a very southwestern vacation home experience to share with family, friends and guests. When this unique home with its unmatched vistas became available, I knew it would be perfect for a vacation home. With 4400 sf on over an acre overlookiing the Lake with two masters and a killer view, it was an ideal choice. All new furnishings have been custom designed and ordered and will be in place this spring before opening for vacation rentals June 1st. I will continue to houseboat but will also now be able to base out of a Lake Powell-Page home and explore the endless desert adventures by land or just BBQ and entertain family and friends on the kitchen patio while enjoying the awesome views! My Razor is in the garage and ready to go!
Being an airline pilot with a window to the world, I had to have a place with majestic views! These views are nothing short of breathtaking! BBQing or relaxing on the deck with such a magnificent backdrop is spiritual and serene. Meanwhile an endless selection of adventures surround you in every direction. Restaurants, shops and entertainment are just blocks away while the home sits on the edge of a mesa unobstructed and the Lake and the Colorado are just minutes away. The RIM trail is immediately adjacent to the property.Spectacular views, in an awesome desert setting, in a luxurious home in a great location says it all!
I just completed the most wonderful vacation exploring several national parks, monuments, and recreation areas in the Utah and Arizona sections of the Grand Circle. Capping off my journey was a wonderful stay at the Kokopelli House. The owners have seen to it that every need is met for the perfect stay, from the highest quality furnishings indoors as well as around the pool & patio areas, to appliances for every occasion. While superlatives could be used to describe every facet of this incredible home, no words could describe the jaw-dropping and endless views from the patio and deck areas. If you think the house and views are great on the website just wait until you see them in person. Though one may be slightly reluctant to leave the Jacuzzi - numerous attractions and activities (such as boating on Lake Powell) are just minutes away, and a fantastic canyon rim trail starts just footsteps from the house. I know I am already looking forward to a return visit next year.
I was fortunate enough to serve as a private chef for a recent corporate stay at the Kokopeli home. Most often, when I'm cooking, I'm focused pretty intently on the menu and what needs to be done, but the amazing view of the rim from the kitchen windows was a beautiful distraction! This gorgeous home was the perfect spot for entertaining our guests and I look forward to using their professional-grade kitchen again soon.
Our company rented this beautiful property to entertain business contacts from Japan. We wanted a venue that was big enough to house them and hold private meetings. This was the perfect place. Lots of room to hold our meetings, but we also had the pleasure of doing it in the classic beauty of this house.
The attention to detail in the decorating of this house is impeccable. Every square inch of it is beautiful inside and out. The views from almost every room are unbelievable.
The owners were so accommodating and helpful with arrangements. We were met by their concierge who even helped us carry in our supplies and groceries. Every request and need was met. We will definitely be renting this property again for future business retreats.
We cannot be more pleased with our experience with the Kokopelli house!!!
I have to admit that I am completely sold on VRBO rentals, having stayed in a number of them across the Caribbean over the years. When doing the trip planning, one scrutinizes the photos on the website and wonders if the place will actually look like that in reality. In the case of the Kokopelli, the pictures just cannot do it justice. Before you even set foot IN the house, the views impress…..instead of turquoise water and red sky, in Page you find a red horizon and turquoise sky. At first it seemed sort of upside down.
A private front courtyard with a fountain presents you with a massive front door, through which you enter into an atrium foyer, and a large living room with a two-story wall of windows overlooking those red canyons. The kitchen is huge and well-appointed, with granite counter tops and a breakfast nook, and has easy access to the formal dining room. Two separate staircases lead up to the three upstairs bedrooms and a very large game room with its own mini-kitchen.
The fourth bedroom is the master suite, located downstairs and taking up an entire third of that floor. If you like awesome bathrooms as much as I do, you may spend a fair amount of time in the master bath; from the jetted tub under the custom glass-block window to the oversize shower, from the double sinks and counter space to the room-sized walk-in closet with its own arched window, it’s bound to impress. Make sure you snag this suite before anyone else in your party does.
The focal point of the house, though, has to be the sandstone patio and new pool area. This is where you will spend most of your time at the Kokopelli. The views seem to go on forever, whether you’re in the pool, hot tub, or seated on one of the comfy chaises on any one of the several levels. There is an outside bar, a large grill, and another refrigerator (making 3 for the house) for your excess beer and wine. All is beautifully landscaped with native desert plants. Sunrise and sunset views from here are epic, as are full moons.
The Kokopelli House is extremely comfortable and one of the best rentals I have ever been in. No detail has been overlooked, and everything, including interaction with the owners, has been flawless. Highly recommended.
P.S. Don’t miss the Page Rim Trail just below the house, for a sunrise hike.
We stayed here shortly after the home was completely remodeled. The experience was awe inspiring. Spacious rooms coupled with breath taking views made us wish our brief stay could last a life time! There were just over eight of us sharing the house and given the cost of hotels in Page during the summer, this was a big help to our vacation monetarily. Despite being almost completely new, the interior had a comfortable and inviting feel. Each room was well kept and the Southwestern theme throughout the home lent a special ambiance to our entire trip out west. We especially enjoyed the walk-in pool with infinity edge. The pool and adjoining hot tub were the perfect way to relax and enjoy the fabulous red rock cliffs of Glen Canyon and Lake Powell.
Wow, what a place. Unbelievable views with a fabulous new renovation of the back & front patios with pool, hot tub, different levels to enjoy several sitting areas, lighting accents, & easy access to BBQ & kitchen. We were fortunate to meet Bruce the owner who planned & built out the renovation. Thought to everything, as from his website he has other properties for vacation rental. House was comfy, all furnishings & amenities you would expect. Second level deck/patio between twin master bedrooms was a pleasant surprise, even a regulation pool table & TV room upstairs. Huge place. Good location a few minutes outside of town in residential neighborhood. I can see the pool/views area as an ideal wedding venue. Highly recommended.
