About Lee Venturini
My husband and I live in Rome and enjoy coming to Ansedonia on weekends when the temperatures start to rise in May and the city becomes unbearably hot.. We love to boat around the coast and spend our days just soaking up the sun and enjoyng time with our boating friends. In the hot summer months. It is just blissful to relax in the shady courtyard with a good book and wander down to the beach for a sunset walk or swim and later enjoy a drink on the water's edge if you prefer to stay a landlubber.
Lee Venturini purchased this villa in 1910
Why Lee Venturini chose Ansedonia
This unique property has been in my husband's family for over 100 years. It was bought by our grandfather directly from the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini (of Madame Butterfly fame) who resided here for many years, and in the last days of his life began composing the opera 'Turandot'. It has been restored with all the modern amenities yet has maintained its Tuscan flair with family antiques. There is air conditioning in all the bedrooms and fly screens as well. The large living room downstairs and the courtyard outside amongst the centuries-old brick and stone walls make this house special and one of a kind. The 'radical-chic' hilltop town of Capalbio and Orbetello are within 10 minutes by car in both directions for food or boutique shopping as well. Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano are also easy drives by car for a nice afternoon walk and visit where you will have a myriad of choices for restaurants. But, coming back to the peace and tranquillity of the Villa Rosa after all that hustle and bustle will be greatly appreciated.
What makes this villa unique
Relaxing and getting away from it all yet being only a short distance away to visit the nearby towns of Capalbio, Orbetello and the Monte Argentario. Long beach walks, biking through the pine forest that runs along the backside of the Feniglia beach until you reach the halfway point and going for a swim in the pristine waters on the clean and unspoilt beach. Pure bliss and relaxation.
