We loved staying at the condo in Kona! The description and pictures are very accurate, and it's very well maintained. The location is great-right in the middle of Ali'i Drive close enough to the beaches, and far enough away from the busier north end of Ali'i. The condo is really thoughtfully upgraded with granite, very nice appliances, A/C, dimmable lights, a great tile shower, and lots of ceiling fans and floor fans. The owner was very honest and easy to contact, and really seemed to love her condo and made sure that we enjoyed our stay. There were very apprciated extras like sand toys and boogie boards, and even some sunscreen if you run short. It has digital cable and wireless internet, and was just overall a really nice place to stay. We did not check out the pool or BBQ area so I cannot comment on those.
We've rented through VRBO a couple times before and this was definitely the nicest upgrades we've found.
There are great markets and restaurants nearby (short car ride) to shop, and we loved snorkeling at one of our favorite spots just about a mile south of the condo. We also went to a lu'au at the Sheraton about 10-12 minutes away (south Kona) and it was pretty good comapred to others we've been to. This was our third visit to Big Island, and third time staying in Kona. We've also stayed in Hilo, Volcano, on Maui and Kauai so we have a good pool to compare. It was a great place to stay and we'd love to stay again!!
