Gulf Shores Condo Rental Photos and Description
Condo, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10)
A Whale of a View! That describes this condo perfectly! As owners of three other properties in Gulf Shores (two houses and one townhouse), we never thought we would own a condo. But that was before we saw this unit. The Whaler condo complex is very small, with only 27 units. There are 7 floors with an elevator to get you to where you want to go. There are 4 units on each floor. The 'D' units span the entire southern part of each floor. With this unit being 5D, you are high enough to have a great view yet low enough to see what is happening below you. Due to the unique architecture of the building, every room in this condo has a great gulf/beach view! I don't think any other condo in Gulf Shores can say that!
When you walk into the unit, you can turn right to pass a separate washer/dryer area on the left and a large pantry on the right. Then you enter the galley kitchen. On the right are the refrigerator, stove and microwave. On the left are the double sinks, dishwasher and rollout trash can. There is a bar behind the sink with three stools. Passing through the kitchen, you come to the dining area with a large table, 6 chairs and a wall of mirror. Turning left between the kitchen and dining area takes you into the living room with seating for 8, 37' HDTV, lots of movies and lots of games for everyone to play. Of course, there are also sliding glass doors covering the entire wall taking you out onto the large balcony. On the balcony, the west side is open so you have an incredible view and don't feel boxed in. You can also look straight down into the swimming pool! Back in the living room, you can take a hall past the bar stools on your left and the wet bar, yes, wet bar, on your right. That takes you to the three bedrooms, all with queen beds and the third having bunk beds as well. All three have 32' HDTVs and great gulf views. The third room also has a Playstation with games and the master has sliding doors to the balcony. The master bathroom has his/her sinks and lots of counter space and the toilet and jetted tub/shower is behind a separate door. The second bathroom is between the other two bedrooms.
What else can we tell you? Did we mention the full size washer and dryer? Or that the living room and master bedroom have sliding glass doors onto a deck where you can watch the sunrise and sunset? That the condo has a colorful beach decor? That you can sleep as many as 10 in the home? That there is wireless internet throughout the condo? That the entire place has ceramic tile floors. That there are ceiling fans in all rooms? Come see for yourself. You will never want to leave as you think you are in paradise with the views from A Whale Of A View!
If you are like us, sometimes you want peace and quiet and sometimes you want to be where the action is. This condo provides the best of both worlds. If you step out on the beach and go to the west, you will have beach chairs, refreshments, and other amenties. You will be in the middle of the action and can even take a short walk down the beach and eat at Sea and Suds restaurant. If you walk to the east, however, you encounter a different world. The Whaler is very close to the state park. As you walk east, you will see less and less people and will feel like you have the beach to yourself! A short walk to the east will take you to the Gulf State Park. The park is home to the Gulf Start Park Pier which is the longest pier on the Gulf of Mexico at 1,540 feet long!

About The Owner
We are Mark and Janet Binkley from Starkville, MS. Janet works at Mississippi State University and I am retired from MSU and I manage four properties in Gulf Shores and 168 min-storage units in Columbus, MS. We are looking forward to an early retirement in a few years and moving to Gulf Shores. We have a son who just graduated from college and a daughter who is a senior in college. With the kids 'normally' out of the house, we discovered that we enjoy being at the beach. After looking at literally hundreds of homes along the coasts of Alabama and Florida, we decided to make a purchase in Gulf Shores. This is our fourth home in Gulf Shores. To us, it is a great location, right on the beach! If you like to be 'with the crowd', start walking along the beach to the west. If you like to be alone, start walking along the beach to the east. Plus, there are great beach views from EVERY room in the condo! Add that to the fishing in the gulf, the pool, shopping and great restaurants, and all in a beautiful location and you get a great vacation site.. We would love for you to visit our home and have a great vacation!

What makes this condo unique
We feel that A Whale Of A View is a great vacation spot. When we are at this property, here is a typical day for us ... see if this works for you. First, I tend to be up at sunrise while my wife likes to sleep in. I walk out of the condo and I'm immediately on the beach. There I fish and enjoy watching both the sunrise over the water and the wildlife. Watching the sunrise over the gulf is an incredible site! When my wife awakes, she heads to the beach to enjoy a morning dip in the gulf and catch some rays. Later, we meet back at the house to have lunch while sitting on the large deck, watching the waves and the people below. After lunch, we head to the large pool directly below our unit for some swimming and relaxation. That evening, we leave the peace and quiet at our condo and drive just a couple of minutes to one of many great restaurants ... or just walk down the beach to Sea and Suds! Or we may do a little shopping in Gulf Shores or in Foley at the outlet mall. Returning home, we take a moonlite walk on the beach looking for sea turtles. Sometimes we just lay on the wooden beach chairs and stare at the stars while enjoying the sea breeze from the gulf. If we are lazy after supper, we may just sit on the deck and listen as the only noise is the water coming onshore. Talk about peaceful! To finish the day, we watch a favorite TV show or a DVD on the 42' HD TV in the living room or on the 32' HD TV in our bedroom. Sound like a perfect day? It is to us too!!! And should the kids join us? Well, in addition to the fishing, swimming and playing on the beach, they can relax in their private rooms, each with 32' HD TVs and DVD players and one with a Playstation, or play some of the games we have in the house for everyone to use. Oh, and if you just have to get on your computer to check email or that dreaded facebook account, then you can use the wireless high speed connection anywhere in the condo or on the deck.
