Conveniently located near popular area attractions and outdoor activities, Fern Creek Cabins offer year round, affordable vacation lodging in the beautiful mountains of southern West Virginia. Our cabins sit on 40 private acres of pristine hemlock forrest near the north rim of the New River Gorge National River..
For those who just want to relax, Fern Creek Cabins offers plenty of space to roam about the property. Our cabins have comfortable porches equipped with grills and hot tubs, outdoor fire pits, and lots of beautiful yard space for throwing horseshoes or playing softball.
We welcome well behaved pets.
We ask our guests to not smoke in our cabins.
While our 2 cabin's share the peaceful seclusion of the Appalachians, it is but a few short miles over New River Gorge Bridge to downtown Fayetteville, named 'Coolest Small Town in America.' Come visit and take a walk around. You’ll find a vibrant shopping district and fantastic restaurants, windows to browse with lots to buy, and a lovely town park.
'Endless Wall Trail' lies a mile around the corner which tours one of the wonders of the New River Gorge -- the unbroken cliffline known as the Endless Wall, which follows the rim of the gorge and offers access to dozens of bolted climbing routes. Breathtaking panoramas await hikers as the trail leads along the top of the cliffs through gnarled pines, mossy boulders, and rhododendron thickets.

Janet and Tom,
We absolutely looooved staying at your cabin this past weekend. I will most certainly be coming again and also referring friends and family. The weather was perfect, the grounds are beautiful! We went ziplinning on Sat and had a blast! The cabin was perect; well equipped and so quaint! Thank u so much for allowing us to stay. We lost my grandmother last weekend so this allowed my parents and I a time to reflect on some amazing memories and also get some much needed R&R.
This trip was planned to get away and enjoy some family time. Our two bedroom cabin was the perfect size for our family. Our two kids loved the bunk beds! The fireplace made the cabin cozy and heated the cabin well. It rained the whole weekend, but we will be back to explore! The cabin was clean and well furnished. We cooked burgers on the grill the first night and a full blown "Thanksgiving" meal the next night. We enjoyed our stay- thank you for allowing us to stay in your "little piece of heaven"!
I totally enjoyed my stay at the Fern Creek Cabins. The wife and I would set on the porch in the early mornings and evenings and watch deer, turkey and even bear cross the property. Very secluded and secure, no problems with in and out traffic or lost people finding there way there.
Excellent for "off the grid" vacation seekers. There is no cable(DVD player), no internet and limited cell service (wife had it, I didnt). The cabin is a large enough for two couples or a small family. Its a little dated but was excellent for rural vacationing. The outside area was very well maintained by the young lady grounds keeper. She was outstanding and very helpful. Lots of room for outside entertaining for even large crowds (10-20 people). Far enough off the beaten path that loud music and fun will not bother anyone, unless the other cabin is occupied. The two cabins are about 80-100 yards apart.
The road in and out is a well maintained gravel road. No problems for 4 wheel vehicles but I would only recommend experienced riders attempt it on a motorcycle. If you take children, there is little for them to stay occupied with except good old fashion playing.
You are only minutes from the New River Gorge Bridge, downtown Fayetteville with nice eating establishment and evening entertainment. Walmart Super Center is 15 miles away for the things you may have forgotten to pack.
Would recommend it????? I will attempt to go back sometime next year (subject to avialability). That should say enough.
My brothers, myself, and boyfriend (all in our twenties) enjoyed a several night stay at this adorable cabin. While close to plenty of adventures- hiking, white water rafting, ect the cabin is secluded and private making the perfect get away. The kitchen is well stocked with whatever you'd need. The hot tub was a great bonus to some fun and exhausting days outside!:). This cabin would be great for all ages and types of groups...highly recommended!
My friends and I went rock climbing over memorial day weekend and this place was perfect for us. It is a little bit rustic, but clean and comfortable. The property itself is beautiful, and secluded, while still being close to town and climbing spots. Owners are out of state, but were quick to respond when we had a little trouble with the water. They let us stay as long as we liked on the day of checkout to make up for it and that was more than adequate under the circumstances, I think. Oh, and the hot tub is new, and clean, and works well. I've had problems with hot tubs at other rentals, not here. Will definitely try to stay here next time we come.
It's not the Ritz, but it was never advertised that way. Comfy lil cabin off the beaten path that served its purpose for home base of a super fun time rafting the Lower New River.
We have stayed at this property before the new owners took over it was great then and even better now since it had a relaxing Hot tub:) I would recommend this cabin to anyone trying to get a weekend getaway or even a a week vacation:) Fayetteville has a lot of beautiful attractions for any age!
