A charming property built in 1851- classic large victorian beach house and guest cottage. A large porch with ocean views and a private balcony in the master bedroom with sunrise views over the ocean. The mainhouse and the cottage are connected by a large lawn filled with flowers and seating areas. The cottage has been professionally landscaped, and has a beautiful seating area and a separate grill area. The renowned inkwell beach is 50 steps away and charming oak bluffs downtown (handmade ice cream), ferry and busy summer harbor is just a 5-7 minute stroll way. A central location with tennis courts, playground and basketball courts just blocks away, and a large park behind the house perfect for an afternoon of picnics and flying kites on the ocean breeze. The spacious house has 4 bedrooms plus an office/studio with high speed internet, DVD and Cable TV. Outside Dining & Porch: If your family and friends love living outside and walking to the beach then look no further. The house is literally 50 steps away from Inkwell beach - and for those who dont prefer the sand we have an ample lawn that includes a large picnic table, a private cafe table, a breakfast table with morning sun, porch rockers, beach chairs, beach towels and comfy adirondack chairs. The large porch wraps around to allow shade seekers on the porch to easily converse with sunbathers in the garden. There are beds of roses, hydrangeas and rhodendrums for you and your guests to enjoy. In addition, there are two gas grills and an outside clothing line. For the truly brave we have a tent that can be pitched so you can hear the sounds of the birds waking you up and enjoy the smell of the sea breeze all night. Free Wi-Fi all over the property with separate super fast Wi-Fi connections in both the garden cottage and the Main House for speed and privacy.

Sleeping Well: While we believe it is the ocean breeze that gives you such a good nights sleep here, we also have new mattresses, pillows, blankets and linens in all the bedrooms in May 2011. In the two master bedrooms, the pillow-top mattress are covered in 600-1000 count cotton sheets for maximum comfort. In addition, each master bedroom has an iPOD/iPHONE music docking station and a digital alarm clock for those of you who want to get up early to watch those stunning ocean sunrises.

Services & Support: We have weekly cleaning services that come into the house as well as weekly landscaping services to keep all those flowers happy. In addition, there is a caretaker on call and a handyman to take care of anything you may need while on the island. Our goal is that you are 100% satisfied with your experience and want to make Joyeux on the Vine your home on the vineyard. About Kahina or Linda

We are a family of four with young children. This is truly a family beach home and it is perfect for weddings, family reunions and special get togethers.

We were looking for many years to find a house that had retained it's original victorian charm. We knew the moment we saw this place that it was special, the family before us had the property in their family for 60 years. We feel like care takers of a very special place that will be around for many more generations to come.

What makes this house unique

The location was just perfect, the idea that we could hear and see the ocean from the master bedroom, yet still walk to town for ice-cream and OB charm, made this the perfect place for us.

Wake up in the Master Bedroom with direct ocean views from your bed or private balcony. Nestled in the heart of the historic district and just a few minutes walk to town, shops, harbor or the ferry. There are five newly decorated bedrooms in the Main House with a full bath and half bath.

The garden cottage is available for an additional rental fee and has a private outdoor seating, separate grill, full bath and kitchen. The beach bike path starts right at our doorstep - with windsurfing, kayaking, clamming all nearby. Just up the street are the neighborhood tennis courts, basketball court and playground. High speed Wi-FI for both properties, as well as extensive book library, DVD and family board games. We welcome you into our home to truly enjoy life what we call 'Joyeux on the Vine'

The 2nd queen bedroom room is a relaxing oasis of cathedral ceilings, a full closet, iPOD docking station and a ceiling fan. The 3rd bedroom upstairs has bunk beds. The 4th bedroom downstairs has two twin beds, decorated in nautical blue and white, with views of the garden and the guest cottage. The 5th bedroom has a desk, bookshelf and small day bed with A/C. Notes: In addition to ceiling fans, we have room fans and A/C units in 2 of the upstairs rooms. For those chilly nights, we have ceramic room heaters and the guest cottage is heated. We have beach towels onsite for our guests to use, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and sand buckets for the little ones. The house has quality linens, beddings and towels. There are two gas grills on site with three separate seating areas as well as outdoor porch with views of the ocean. Just come and enjoy.

My family stayed at this beautiful home at the beginning of July. The house is close to everything. The beach was never crowded, the water was clear and the house was less than two minutes away.
The house itself was very cozy. The porch was a perfect spot enjoy the ocean breeze and the spirit of the Vineyard. The beds were very comfortable and all the bedrooms had a great cross breeze.
We also enjoyed walking to the town of Oak Bluff and enjoying the many variety of ice cream!!
We will be back to visit this wonderful house for many years to cone.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

A lovely beach home

We stayed here during the Memorial Day weekend and simply loved it. The house is spacious and has that Vineyard feel (at least we think it did). They are CLOSE to the water, 2 minutes walk and you're not just on sand, your feet are wet.

It's an easy walk to everywhere, (5 minutes to the Oak Bluffs ferry, 5 minutes to Circuit Street, 2 minutes to some nice beaches) and we did enjoy exploring however most evenings were spent grilling and sitting on the porch, enjoying the neighborhood and the sea breezes.

The bedrooms are updated and comfortable with good cross breezes so we slept excellently. The house has all the amenities we could have asked for, the kitchen was well stocked, etc.

Just a wonderful place to spend some time on Martha's Vineyard!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
