Romantic vacation getaway. The location is close enough to town so you can grab a bite to eat but far enough away to enjoy the great location. Kelly was a thoughtful hostess and was easy to work with. We had a relaxing stay for 2 nights. Thank you! We hope to be back next year!
We spent a lovely week here. Sunbeam hot springs flow into the Salmon River just
downstream. The Sawtooth Mountains tower over the Stanley Basin just upstream.
The cabin was well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. The owner's eye for detail and charm are evident everywhere. It is rustic, comfortable, and a world away from the rush of modern life. Easy to relax in one of the more beautiful places in the world.
We spent a weekend and loved every minute. Kelly is very easy to work with, the cabin has anything you could need (it's not a huge kitchen but somehow she has managed to squeeze everything you could want in there!!), it's very clean, cozy and well-maintained and the location is perfect. We were able to visit a couple ghost towns (only 15 minutes or so away), pull a few trout out of the river, relax in the hot springs, have dinner in Stanley and relax by the campfire. The two teenage girls liked having WiFi but we were actually able to pull them away to play scrabble and make s'mores! I would definitely recommend this property and plan on returning in the future.
The Little Casino Creek Cabin was a perfect base for our week long exploration of the Sawtooths and the Stanley Area. First of all, it was very easy working with Kelly to rent the place. She made sure we had everything we needed to make our vacation as best as possible.
The Cabin itself is perfect. It was clean and very comfortable. With a full kitchen and propane bbq on the side deck, we were able to prepare great meals throughout our entire stay. Plus, we were able to eat dinners on the tremendous back deck. I can assure you that this Cabin has all the comforts of home.
The Cabin sits on the Salmon River, about 5 minutes from Stanley and 10 minutes from Redfish Lake. There is GREAT hiking in the area, river rafting, hot springs, wildlife viewing and lots more. This is also a great place to just relax by the river breathing in fresh mountain air.
We had an amazing week. The natural beauty in this area is as beautiful as I have encountered, and it remains largely unspoiled because of a lack of crowds.
I highly recommend visiting The Sawtooths, Stanley and The Little Casino Creek Cabin.
This log cabin on the Salmon is accurately discribed, in fact words really don't do it justice. The property was well maintained and was very clean and beautifully appointed. All the appliances were newer models and were in very good working condition. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for cooking our meals at the cabin. Having the gas grill on the front porch was a bonus.
As I stated, the pictures and description really don't do justice to this cozy log cabin. It was a pleasure to just hang around and enjoy the ambience of the place. We spent a lot of time on the front porch as well as on the rear deck watching the river roll by. We were fortunate enough to watch an Ospry take a trout out of the Salmon River on 2 seperate occasions.
This area has beautiful scenery with lots of places to explore. We had an enduro motorcycle with us so we were able to have easy access to the Bonanza and Custer Ghost Towns. We also visited a number of lakes south of Stanley as well as the historical Ranger Station. On the way to the Ranger Station we surprised 6 pronghorns along side the gravel road we were riding. We were the only people out there and it gave us an idea how remote this location was 150 years ago. Also, closer to the cabin, we had a nice hike up the Little Casino Creek. (Trail head is less then a mile from the cabin.)
I would recommend this cabin and I expect to return next year. I love the Stanley Basin and Sawtooth Mountains. I driven my truck or ridden a motorcycle 650 miles from Seattle for the last 4 years to spend a week in paradise and this log cabin is the best place I have found for a comfortable, beautiful and private place to hangout.
A thank you to the Martin's for sharing their wondeful log cabin
I only had a couple of days to spare but I must say it was worth every penny. I did not arrive until night fall and when I walked in I felt like I was home. There are so many little things that if you are not paying attention you miss them. Exceptionally comfortable. The music library was a favourite . Discovering the hammock and the little path to the adirondack chair on the river( heaven) not to mention the incredible fire pit. I can not say enough good things about Miss Kelly. You are wonderful and I love your home. If you truly want a break you must rent this cabin. Perfect location, perfect atmosphere and wonderful people.
Thank you so much
