Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

This lovely, newly remodeled cabin on the hill top of Lake Byllesby is a great get-a-way or vacation only 30 minutes from the Twin Cities and Rochester. The lake is a hidden gem for the best sailing, great walleye and bass fishing, and fun boating along the cliffs watching people jumping and plunging into the water. The view from the cabin overlooks 2000 acres of undeveloped boyscout land so the view is amazing. As you look at the lake the left side is a huge private park so it is a very quiet spot.

Relax on the deck with a book and binoculars in hand to watch soaring eagles, woodpeckers, blue birds, Herons and White Pelicans.

There is an outdoor dining table with 6 chairs, 2 lounge chairs with cushions and 2 adirondak chairs and a hammock for your use. Walk down to the dock for some sunning canoeing or fishing. Enjoy the warmth of the fire pit overlooking the lake, toast marsh mellows, tell stories and simply just be.

The layout of the cabin is very clean and simple. 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, laundry area, sun room, living room and kitchen. The yard is big enough to play football, volleyball, bean bag toss and there are horseshoes on the sandy beach below.

There is also a flower garden and vegetable garden for your use.

About The Owner

I am an outdoor enthusiast who loves to bird, hike, canoe and kayak. I have 2 Border Collie dogs who just love the cabin and lake as much as I do.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2007
Why The Owner chose Hastings

It is close to our home in Minneapolis and easy to get to from the airports. Centrally located to casinos, culture, hiking, antiquing etc.

What makes this cabin unique

Love the easy access to the beach and lake living. It is 3 minutes to the best of golf courses, wine tasting is right in town and enjoy just BBQing, making a fire and relaxing. In the mornings I love to take the dogs for a walk to the park and along the nearby hiking trails right out the door.

The cabin is lovely, clean, and private. The view over the lake is beautiful and the owner goes above and beyond to make the stay perfect! I highly recommend this hide-a-way!

This cabin has everything you need for a perfect getaway. I have had the pleasure of staying here several times & every stay has been unique. The lake is full of fun activities but never crowded...plenty of places to boat, jetski, canoe, swim, fish, cliff dive, bird watch or just relax outside & watch from atop with a wonderful view! I love it that it is close to golf courses as well as miles of bike trails. I appreciate that it is clean, modern & has all the ammenities you will need. And the best feature is location, location, location! It is within an hour drive from anywhere in the cities which makes it a great option for me any season of the year!

Beautiful, close retreat

We live in the Twin Cities and LOVE how close this cabin is to where we live. What is the best is it feels like we are "up north" without having to drive for hours. The cabin is up-to-date and has everything you would want. The cliff view which overlooks the lake is gorgeous. We love the firepit which is situated overlooking the water. We spend most of our time there. What is also nice is how close the cabin is to area golf courses. We like it too as they allow us to bring our small dog. He loves the outdoors too! It is a special place that we will continue to visit whenever possible. We love it!
