We are Canadians who live in the south of France, due to a career move. We are a family of 5 with a golden retriever. We come back to our cottage every year, it's our favourite place to vacation and we go as often as possible. We built out cottage in 2000 on Georgian Bay waterfront because we find Georgian Bay water to be the cleanest most beautiful lake region in the world.
We built our cottage in 2000, when living in Toronto, on 4 acres in the Georgian Bay area because we feel the is one of the most beautiful and clean bodies of water, boasting 30,000 islands. We never tire of spending time there. It is as beautiful in the winter as it is in the summer. The lake freezes so that the playground before the cottage extends to the islands and beyond. In winter It is ideal for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, skating etc. In the summer we swim, boat, and relax in the hammock, on our deck or in our screened in porch.
We feel it's just far enough from Toronto as not to be too crowded but still close enough to drive to. Just 15 minutes from Parry Sound we have access to any services needed.
On some days we enjoy the quiet, the deer roaming by, the birds and other forest sounds, walking or just lazying around. On other days we live in the lake and on the dock.
