Beautifully located private-beach house with front & back decks overlooking Pt. Susan Bay & Triangle Cove awaits your arrival for a fully relaxing get-away. Sip coffee or cocktails viewing the southern unobstructed vistas of Mt. Rainier across the bay lively with bird calls and quiet bird hunting poses, with seasonal salmon splashes as they follow the current to our backside estuary. We are the 3rd home from the end of a dead end private road, and therefore enjoy a peaceful & serene atmosphere where sometimes the herons and eagles calling are the only noises heard. We are a great base for the mid-winter Snow Goose & Glass Quest festivals, and early spring Tulip Festival in the Skagit Valley. Our house, newly painted inside & furnished with new privacy blinds throughout, features an open floor design with family comfort and fun in mind. We have family videos for VCR in loft, and DVD for TV in living room. NEW-cable TV! Best LP collection & great stereo for your listening enjoyment. Kitchen is fully equipped with dish/glass/cookware and all cutlery & essential accessories. Queen bed has new memory pillowtop mattress pad and allergy free down comforter. Sofa unfolds into queen bed. Loft sleeping area has double bunk bed also with memory foam mattress pad on extra-deep futon mattress; trundle bed (2 singles) and 1/2 bath. The local golf course is 5 minutes away with a fun 18 holes and driving range; the new zip-liner course through the woods is directly across from the golf range. Hike through two state parks; Cama Beach offers the Wooden Boat Center to explore & summer concerts. Many local artists open their studios (May Art Tour) and galleries galore! Our beach can be walked at low tide with crab found in season! (Thrills the kids). Kayakers and paddle boarders love our bay and the gentle current at the point leading into the estuary. Launch your boat at nearby Cavallero Park & use our buoy. Easy walking, biking, skating on our beach & local roads. We know you'll be thrilled with your stay at our home.
Fully furnished/equipped south facing beach house (Pt. Susan & Mt. Rainier); backside estuary. Bedroom, sofa bed, sleeping loft with beds for 5 more; 1.5 baths. No ferry to the best ever get-away island experience. Two night minimum bookings only.
We are semi-retirees with our primary residence on the other side of the island. Since our adult children live in different cities we decided to open the opportunity for other families to experience and enjoy this unique locale.
We loved being able to leave Seattle & in about an hour without the lines or costs of a ferry, be in a beachfront community: small enough to get acquainted with other lifelong resident owners many who have other family owners on our beach. The easy interactions yet respect for privacy make ours a wonderful community. It's a relatively small community since the buildable lots have been limited by septic system requirements, and the length of our peninsula.
Our 'backyard' is all water! The deck overhangs the back estuary/cove and there is nothing better than sitting in the rocker & listening to so many birds calling out; watching the eagle parents teach their young to hunt; the flocks soaring and swooping as they dance across the horizon. Our neighbors are not year around residents so it is very private both front & back decks. When the sun shines (& it does that a lot on our island despite what other weather is nearby), it is time to flop on the chaise lounges & read without interruption! We love boating & crabbing & if you're there during season & want to join us baiting/pulling pots, we'll work to make that happen, demonstrating cleaning & cooking & sharing the bounty of the sea!!
We are perfectly located as a base to explore two local state parks, walk local trails & bird watch, visit local artist galleries/studios, check out historic Stanwood, nearby LaConner & the greater Skagit Valley farmlands. Public boat launch (Cavallero) and public golf course (Camaloch) each 5 minutes away. New zip-liner course also 5 minutes away.
