Xanadu is the closest you can be to the ocean without taking a cruise vacation. As you arrive on location, driving over the bluff, you are confronted with a panoramic view of water. This exclusive custom (ICF) constructed property is brand new with luxury appointments both in and out. Great for those who want to relax on the New Brunswick quarried slate patio watching fishermen directly out front in the early morning, whales, seals and eagles during the day or Hawaiian like sunsets, shooting stars and satellites during the night. To the discerning chef, the kitchen has it all. If swimming is your thing, the water at the beach has been termed the 'Warmest North of the Carolina's'.
The area is great for the active individual interested in water sports, hiking at Cape George(lighthouse site which inspired Robert Munsch book of the same name) or cycling around 'The miniature Cabot Trail' of the Cape.
The town of Antigonish, site of Highland Games and St. FX University, is only 15 minutes away. Here you can access any amenities you may require. The town also hosts an 18 hole golf course. For the serious golf enthusiast, the world class Cabot Links Golf Course is a 2 hour scenic drive away.

My wife and I chose this location as it is only a 2 hour drive to Halifax Airport and it was one of the few properties on that shore where we could gain such access to the ocean with a house/cottage.
My wife and I both enjoy cooking and this was never far from our minds when we designed the kitchen for Xanadu. The area is open concept with high beamed ceilings and no matter where you stand, all you see is ocean. There are speaker systems both in and outside the living area, so you can have soft background music playing while you create dinner for the evening.
Xanadu By the Sea was exactly what we had hoped for. The house was beautiful and the location can't be beat. What's not to love when you can get your coffee, step out the front door, and watch/listen to the waves crashing on the shore...an absolutely beautiful setting. Thanks, Paul and Heidi, for including us in your Thanksgiving celebration. What a special time that was. We enjoyed getting to know your family very much. Oh, be sure and give Bella an extra treat for us! We're dog lovers too, so it was nice to have her pop over for a visit. Thanks again for making your piece of paradise available so others can enjoy it too. God bless.
We enjoyed a week in this lovely home with everything we needed including a washer & dryer. This is the perfect get away, the home is beautiful and bright with great views of the ocean just outside your window. We enjoyed evening fires in the fireplace, listened to the waves and watched as the eagles landed on the rocks at the shore. Went on daily excursions like beach walking, hiking looking for fossils all at your fingertips. Our lab Caper had the time of his life also. :) Paul and Heidi were fantastic host and we got to use their kayak to do some beach exploring along the shores. Can't say enough about this little peace of heaven except come and experience it for yourself you won't be sorry!!!

We vacation each year at a different spot on the east coast, however this rental exceeded our expectations, and now want to make this house a yearly retreat. The house itself is beautiful, we loved the beachy decor, and even though it's a smaller home, it is so well designed and functional, and has many modern amenities. The views from the house are breathtaking, you can hear the ocean with the windows open! Just steps to the beach, which we walked along every day. We day tripped out from the house, spending a day on the Cabot trail, which is only a couple of hours. Antigonish is 15 min away, where we would go out for dinner and groceries. We booked a private tuna fishing charter one day that left from Cribbons Point, only 25 min away. No tuna unfortunately, but plenty of mackerel and the crew were fun to hang around for a 13hr day! Highly recommend Northumberland Bluefin Tuna Charter if this is something you want to do on your vacation.. I know we will book with them again on our next trip out.
It was a bit emotional leaving the house to come home, we had an amazing time and felt so refreshed and renewed and are already looking at a longer stay for next year. Thanks for the wonderful memories!
Our family stayed for a week in July. Paul and Heidi made all of us, including our two boys (aged 3 and 5), feel very much at home. The boys loved the beach, the bald eagles who visited regularly, and hunting for fossils just down the road at Arisaig Provincial Park. A perfect location, with a beautiful home, and wonderful hosts - it doesn’t get better than that. I would recommend it to anyone.
My husband and I recently stayed at this beautiful ocean front home with the most spectacular view of the ocean you can imagine. The home had everything we needed for our stay and I can’t say enough about how helpful and welcoming Paul and Heidi were. We both hope to get the opportunity to stay here again.
Our family stayed here for a week in August and very much enjoyed the home and property. The house is as close as you can get to the ocean, with spectacular sunsets and a fantastic private beach. Paul and Heidi have thought of everything to make your stay relaxing and worry-free. We especially enjoyed spending time down at the beach, jumping in the waves and kayaking. The house is beautifully appointed, and we loved hanging out in the enclosed patio enjoying a glass of wine and listening to music. Our four-year-old loved the outdoor shower and watching the hummingbirds. Thank-you to Paul, Heidi, Sydney and Bella for your hospitality!
