With its glassy smooth water, overhanging cliffs and winding banks, Lake Worth is a great escape to all water activities and is especially great for the fishing enthusiast. Area Amenities include a large public boat ramp, boat slips, and sailboat docks just steps away. Located on the West Fork of the Trinity River, entirely within the Fort Worth city limits the surface area of the lake is 3,489 acres and the maximum depth is 22 feet. White Crappie and Catfish are the most popular fishes in Lake Worth. Largemouth Bass and White Bass are also present. Largemouth bass can be found around rocky shoreline and boat houses. Crappie may be located near reed beds and brush piles under docks. White bass are easy prey when spawning up the river. Catfish are located throughout the reservoir. Blue catfish over 40 pounds are not uncommon.
