Beautiful house in quiet, residential neighborhood in Melrose, the most desired city in Massachusetts:
Melrose is safe and quiet. The Victorian downtown/Main St area is 3 blocks away and has a supermarket, drug store, and great restaurants. It receives incredible praise from visitors to this house.
Luxury appointments, designer kitchen and upscale furniture throughout, and tiled baths with granite vanities. Large walk-in closets. Fenced in yard and three-car driveway. Air conditioned.
*1st Floor: LARGE luxury 5-star kitchen with granite, professional appliances, and complimentary food staples (sugar, oil, flour, coffee beans & Grind & Brew Cuisinart, etc.). Large Victorian foyer. 20 FT x 20 FT deck off kitchen with gas grill and herb garden. Living room with large sectional couch. Full bath off kitchen w/shower.
*2nd Floor: 3 bedrooms each with a queen bed, laundry (washer & dryer), and full bath w/tub.
*Attic: Finished, carpeted bedroom with a double futon and queen futon.
*Basement: Large finished room with large sectional couch and huge walk in closet.
Convenient/close to Boston: 15 minutes by car. 3 minute walk to commuter rail, 2 minute walk to bus, 15 minute walk (3 minute drive) to Oak Grove MBTA train station (15 minute train ride into Boston). See more information at www.MBTA.com.
To keep the cleaning fee low, we ask that tenants assist with 2-3 loads of laundry in the high-capacity washing machine and dryer before leaving. This way the laundry will not delay the cleaning crew. This simply involves completing the 1st load and leaving it on the bed (no folding required), leaving the 2nd load in the dryer and the 3rd load in the washer if you get that far. The washing machine has a 30-minute quick cycle setting, thus it will only take an hour.
Check in is after 3:00 pm. Check out is by 11:00 am. Exceptions can be made, but please confirm with the owner.
A check for the amount of one night is required to hold your reservation. This is non-refundable within 3 months of your stay.
I really enjoy home remodeling. I really poured my heart into this house and it's beautiful!
Greg Penta purchased this house in 2005
Melrose is a VERY quaint town, close and convenient to Boston, subway and buses.
Very close and convenient to Boston (14 min. drive), subway and buses.
I don't even know where to start, the house is absolutely amazing, very clean, top quality furniture, bedding, utensils etc...We were a family of 7 adults, 3 children and 1 baby! Greg catered for all our needs, we had use of a stroller, travel cot, high chair! The area is very beautiful and only about 15/20 min drive into boston! The main street is literally 10 min walk with everything u need and there is a park for the kids to play in. The area is safe and beautiful and generally found the local people very helpful. I'm in nyc just now and the current apartment is fine but we all keep talking about how we miss Gregs house! We will defo book up to stay here again the nxt time we come to boston. thanks greg!
If you are thinking of spending anytime in the Boston area, you MUST stay here! The location is incredibly convenient. Yes, the train station is very close by but driving into Boston or any of the other close by attractions is very easy. We spent time in Plymouth, Boston, Kennebunkport & Quincy. Very easy access. Loved walking to Main St. in the morning for bagels or donuts & grabbing dinner at night. Traveled with our goldendoodle so the fenced in back yard was a plus. If you need doggie day care, Dogwood Cottage is just down the street. Greg (the owner) was great to work with & we would definitely recommend this property!
The house is absolutely fantastic. It is well decorated. The house is in a very nice neighbor hood. The location is close to T station. We actually went to the coffee shop at the T station every morning to get some fresh brewed coffee. There is also a playground two blocks away. Wasn't it fun playing some balls during vacations?
Greg is also very nice to talk to, very easy to communicate with.
I can't say enough good things about this home. It was perfect. We had 4 adults and 5 children, with one floating adult. It was well kept, clean, quiet, easy to find, convienent and big! We loved the kitchen and the space. The owner did a fantastic job helping us get around, fix a lightbulb (immediately, I might add!) and more. He was responsive and very helpful. What a great location! It made our trip to Boston just amazing! Thank you!
I cannot praise this place enough if you are looking for a place to stay close to Boston. Greg is a very responsive owner and goes out of his way to make your stay a good one. It is reasonably priced, within 15-20 minutes from Boston, and fully stocked with housewares, condiments and bedding. We had two families for a total of 12 people and we fit very comfortably. The trains and subways are close if you want public transportation or you can drive into town in about 15-30 minutes depending on traffic. You are close to historic Boston, Salem, Lexington Concord, within 35-45 minutes of nice beaches, and of course very close to historic Fenway park. We did all of this and the July 4th fireworks and Greg helped tremendously with suggestions. The town of Melrose where the house is located is quaint and you can walk to downtown for some nice breakfast and lunch places, if you are taking a day to relax. We highly recommend this place and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
This house is a great place to stay if you want to visit Boston and surrounding areas. The train station is about 5 blocks away and within easy walking distance. The subway was farther but if you have a car then you can park there for $6 a day and run right into downtown Boston. We also went to Salem, which was about 20 minutes away and, also went to the NBA Hall of Fame which was about an hour and a half away. There is a park with a basketball court one block away. The house itself had plenty of space for the whole family. The back deck was great for sitting out in the morning or in the evening. Melrose was just a few blocks away and had everything you need, groceries, etc. There is also a mall 3 miles down the road that has plenty of stores, eateries, etc. We went to a night game at Fenway and the subway ran late enough to get us back home. The owner, Greg, was very accommodating and was ready to take care of any needs that arose, which were none. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to visit Boston in the future. Thanks Greg!
