FISHING CLUBS WELCOME! LAKEFRONT HOME, FABULOUS VIEWS, RELAXING....

We enjoyed our stay at the Oneida Lake house very much. The property was just as described and better. There were nine of us and we were all very comfortable. The living area is very spacous with lovely big windows overlooking the lake The kitchen was well equiped. We only had one slight maintenance issue but it was resolved within hours of our phone call.

The location is good for nice walks. We visited the Erie Canal Museum in Syracuse one day and highly recommend that to those visiting the area.

We were in the area for a wedding and everyone staying with us enjoyed it so much that it was suggested that we have a reunion next year.

Loved it. It's in a quiet neighborhood, has plenty of room, a huge living room with a great view of the lake (plenty of seating), large master bedroom w/ comfortable king size bed. In fact, everyone in my party said their bed was comfortable. Pretty much everything you need is supplied, plenty of towels, washcloths, dishes, silverware, paper towels, TP, trash bags, etc. The only thing we needed that we brought was the crockpot and a deep fryer so that we could enjoy some of the Oneida walleye and we did, believe me. The grill is charcoal and is a bit old, but it works fine. The water is really shallow at the dock, but but drops off fairly quickly 10-15 yards offshore. You can get a bass boat to it even though it looks like it's in 6" of water. The water is so clear it's deceptive. I got my 21' Ranger to the dock but I have a hydraulic jack plate so I was able to raise the motor up; not sure I would recommend it without the jackplate but I think it's doable. As far as the fishing, this was my first trip to Oneida, and I'll definitely go back. The fish are plentiful, and the lake is loaded with 2.5 to 2.75 pound largemouth, and we did catch about a dozen in the 3lb range with the biggest being 3-11. What a fight though. Compared to the largemouth, all of those 2.5lb smallies fought like 4lb LM. One other thing is you just never know what you have on until you see it. We caught just about every species of fish that you can imagine to include LM, walleye, rock bass, blue gill, sheep head, bowfin/grennel (not really sure what they call them up there), and more pike than I care to remember (feisty and seem to outnumber the LM 10-1, maybe because they are more aggressive), all on the same lures, tubes and swim jigs, spinnerbaits. We didn't catch a single catfish or crappie though. So to sum it up, I can't think of anything bad to say about the place so if you're looking for a vacation rental, I would definitely go with this property. The owner Mike was very accomodating and oh yeah, the WiFi worked good too.

My family and I rented this home for christmas and everything was wonderful. The home was very clean and well equipped. There was a ton of room and lots of places to sleep including extra cots and even a blow up mattress. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a big christmas meal. Everyone felt right at home, the house and yard are very well kept and the view of the lake from the house is perfect. We will definatly be staying here for any future trips to CNY.
