When you read through books about Kauai, you will find that the majority will focus on the N. shore exactly where this house is located.
It has something for everyone!
Schuchter (2006) “Perfect Days on Kauai” book gives you examples of the perfect day in paradise and the real feel of Hawaii.
Can you imagine crossing over one lane bridges and having unspoiled coastal beaches with some of the best reefs which are actually footsteps from your doorstep at our home? You can have this at Hale Haena.
Our home is 100 paces to the sand. It is a privately deeded path. You can hear the sea breezes and see the ocean from your three lanais.
This is the high end district that is cottage homes on the beach. There are houses just a few doors down that rent for thousands a night.
The beach in front of Hale Haena is sandy but there is coral which is great for snorkeling (see the satellite picture).
Every day will be different on the beach according to the tide and time of the year.
All the beaches on the north shore have their own personalities. Visit them all.
You have all the amenities you will need. Enjoy the manicured landscaped yard with local Hawaiian flowers that are beautiful to see and very fragrant. The kitchen is well stocked and open to the living area.
The views are spectacular! From one lanai you can see the ocean on the east horizon and if you turn to the west you will see the beautiful mountain views. The hedges in the back give you privacy to enjoy dinner on the lanai. The lanai off the BR upstairs you can sip a glass of wine and watch the sunset.
What more could you ask for? Location?
Location, Location, Location-
Kauai, 23 Themed Itineraries Lonely Planet 2009 informs the reader that the best scenic drive is “to the end of the road.” That is where we are. You can explore wet caves, the best snorkeling right by the house. Don’t forget to bring your hiking shoes because just above Ke’e Beach is the start of the a trail that will take you to the 100 foot Hanakapi’ai Falls, Napali Coast- Kalalau Trail.
Our home is a sensory delight where you are embraced by the gentle trade winds, enchanted by the fragrant flora, lulled to sleep by the waves running over the outer reefs and thrilled by the colors of the rising and setting sun.
FYI… Make sure you rent from someone who has a TVR permit and from a reputable company (licensed management company).
We are one of only a few of licensed/permitted and established vacation rentals in Haena that pay taxes to the state of Hawaii. Our TVR permit is proudly displayed in our window as mandated and on our web sites. Others do not have the TVR permit or someone on island managing their home, but will tell you they do. Many are renting w/o complying with these laws and “you” maybe at risk if they are discovered with extremely large fines, etc.
Read Hawaii Act 326 which became law effective July 1, 2012. It requires operators of transient accommodations (vacation rentals) to do the following:
• Designate a local contact residing on the same island as the transient accommodation
• Provide the local contact’s contact information to any entity with covenants, bylaws, or administrative provisions operational with respect to the property on which the transient accommodations exists (an association of owners).
• Include the local contact’s name and phone number in any contract or written rental agreement.
• Provide on a website or by online link and display in all advertisements and solicitations on websites the registration identification number issued under HRS 237 D-4. (The TAT license number and GET).
