QUIET HIDEAWAY NEAR YELLOWSTONE AND GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK

Yellowstone House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.25 Baths, (Sleeps 7)

This home is the perfect place to stay while exploring Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park.

The house exudes cabiny charm, and has everything you would need for a very comfortable stay. There is a great view of the Buffalo Valley, with Mount Leidy on the other side. You can spot buffalo, elk, and moose from the big picture window. We have even watched a pack of wolves across the valley watching a herd of elk! You may even have a moose or a fox wander through the yard.

The living room, kitchen, and dining room are one big open space. The dining table seats 6 with an extra leaf if necessary, and there are 2 stools at the kitchen island. We have a small wood stove with big heat output if needed, or just for a nice ambiance.

You can have a drink outside on the deck while grilling dinner and enjoying to setting sun's light on the valley and the mountains in the distance.

One bedroom has a king size bed. The second bedroom has a double bed and a bunk bed, perfect for mom, dad, and the kids. The third bedroom is a single with a quarter bath.

There is a garage to keep the weather off your vehicle. Parking for a small RV, boat, or trailer is available to the side of the house. We have 2 large corrals with feeders and water tubs if you bring your equine friends.

This property is located just minutes from Grand Teton National Park, and about 30 minutes from Yellowstone National Park; about as close as you can get to these famous vacation spots. Enjoy day trips to Jackson Lake, Jackson Lake Lodge, Signal Mountain, Jenny Lake, and more. And that is just within Teton National Park. Yellowstone still awaits! Each destination has its own unique reason to visit. From boating, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, enjoying fantastic food, and unforgettable views of the Tetons, no one will leave the Park(s) without a memory to enjoy forever. We are 26 miles from the airport, and 35 miles from Jackson.

The Buffalo Fork River is within walking distance, with multiple creeks, rivers, and lakes nearby as well. Just down the road (1/4 mile) is the Buffalo Valley Cafe, which not only has great food, but usually has WiFi and cell phone reception (depends on the weather). The Buffalo Valley Ranch and the Heart 6 Guest Ranch both offer guided trail rides and float trips.

This is a wilderness area, and cell reception is available at our house intermittently. We have found that we are able to text in most areas. There is no internet connection available at this time. But isn't that what a true getaway is all about?! We do have an extensive video library, books and magazines, and several board games for old fashioned family fun.

We are very pet and kid friendly.

Please email or call for more photos and information, or if you have any questions.

My husband and I live in a very small town in another area of Wyoming. We have a small farm and raise hay for our 6 horses, and several roping steers. We also have a very smart minpin who goes everywhere with us.

The Owner purchased this house in 2004

We love coming to our retreat in the pines. It is the quietest place I have ever been in! My husband's family has hunted and packed into this area for years. We can bring our horses and ride out from the property up the mountain into some of the most beautiful country in the world. You can get amazing views of the Tetons up there, as well as seeing fields of wildflowers, and wildlife.

We enjoy walking the 'loop' as we call it. Our road goes up the hill, loops down the hill, and back to our house. It's about a mile, and makes a great hike with our little dog.

PERFECT FOR A GETAWAY WEDDING!

  • 5 of 5
This cabin was perfect for a getaway for wedding! We thoroughly enjoyed area around the cabin. The location was perfect, nestled in the Wyoming National Forest. We saw elk, moose, sandhill cranes and many other wonderful birds from the area surrounding the cabin. Every day was an adventure! We found a great restaurant in the valley called the Whetstone! Thank you so much for letting us use your perfect cabin! We can't wait to come back!

COMFORTABLE CABIN IN THE ASPENS

  • 5 of 5
We had a great week at this well equipped, cozy cabin. The views were terrific & we all enjoyed watching the horses in the valley below either from the deck or the big picture windows. And watching storms approach over the mountains in the distance was fascinating. The photos do not do it justice because there are so many small, thoughtful touches through out the home & the owners were a joy to work with. We've rented many houses through VRBO & this has definitely been the most comfortable, anticipating most every need. The location was perfect for exploring GTNP & not far from YNP. We highly recommend this property for a relaxing getaway with spectacular scenery!

AWAY FROM JACKSON

  • 5 of 5
In our continuing search to find house rentals near national parks, yet away from it all, we once again found another gem. It's located about 5 miles from Moran Junction, so within minutes you'll be in Grand Teton National Park. The house is partway up a hill and from the deck there is a gorgeous view of the Buffalo Fork River valley, overlooking a horse farm as well. The cabin was cozy and clean with a wide variety of movies, games and puzzles. Beds were fine. The only thing we missed was a dishwasher as we ate 2/3 meals there every day (with two kids), but this was really not a big deal.

The location was excellent as we wanted to be away from Jackson yet close to the parks. You're still only a 45 minute drive or less to town if need be. It was wonderful having short drives to the Tetons every day. Yellowstone looks close based on mileage, but the roads are 45 mph and windy--meaning if you get stuck behind an RV going 35 you're going 35 for a long time. Figure about 2 hours to Old Faithful this time of year with the construction and the crowds. We shot up to Yellowstone twice and that was enough for us. Yellowstone is so large that I think it's a park that's best seen by staying in the actual park. However, Grand Teton NP is much more scenic and we enjoyed the hiking there more.

As always, the most worrisome thing booking on a site like VRBO is the owner, and I can say that dealing with Linda was an absolute pleasure, she responded to emails promptly, sent all materials once the deposit was paid, and the deposit check was returned within a week of us coming home.

Definitely would try to stay there again if we're back in the area.

FAMILY REUNION IN MORAN, WY

We were very pleased with the rental property in Moran, WY. We had a very nice family get-together with myself, my daughter, my two sisters and my mother. The house was very nice, and met all of our expectations.

EXCELLENT FAMILY VACATION LOCATION!

  • 5 of 5
My wife, five children (ages 8 through 18), and I stayed at this property four nights while vacationing out west. It was a wonderful experience! The home is very well maintained and the photos displayed in the advertisement are very representative. The kitchen is very well equipped - we were able to eat a homemade meal every night without wanting for any supplies. The house is only a five minute drive from the Signal Mountain Teton Park Entrance. The view from the back patio is quite scenic. There is also an awesome wood burning stove in the dining area - I imagine this would be very useful in the winter months.

While staying at the home, we spent two full days in the Tetons and one day in Yellowstone. We were fortunate enough to see two black bears, a grizzly, numerous bison, elk, and moose. My wife and four children went horseback riding at a facility less than a five minute walk from the house - they enjoyed it very much. At night, there was a very well stocked cabinet full of VHS tapes which provided our two young daughters there first opportunity to watch Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back.

A couple of things to keep in mind for large groups such as mine: (1) there is only a single full bath and one half bath (as noted in the advertisement), so you need to be fairly well organized to get going in the morning, (2) related to the single full bath, keep your showers short to avoid running out of hot water (I'm very spoiled by the tankless water heater we have out our home), and (3) the double bed in the children's room is probably best suited for two young children (which worked out well for us).

All in all, our stay was everything we hoped it would be! Our family recommends this home without any reservation! We would definitely stay here again if we everg again make the trek to the Tetons from Georgia. As an aside, the owners were great to work with. They were very communicative during the reservation process. After our stay, we received our security deposit within four days of checking out.

CABIN GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
This place was fantastic - exactly what we were looking for! It was comfy and not too fancy. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast and supper each day. The view from the little deck was like a postcard. It was conveniently close to Yellowstone Natl Park and Grand Teton Natl Park but also secluded from the other tourists. Loved it!
