Beach Paradise

We rented the lower two units for 5 nights in October. Both units were clean and more than adequate. My mom who is disabled stayed in the studio on the lower level and it was perfect for her with no stairs, a large walk in shower, etc. The middle unit was perfect for us with 2 children... we had our morning coffee and evening cocktails on the large deck.
The rental had everything we needed, lots of pool toys, beach toys, umbrella's, etc. We hardly left the cottage as the kids were happy to be at the beach or in the pool. We got a kick out of all the gecko's my son would catch and brought home tons of shells we found on our own beach. There is an ice cream shop down the alley and we would walk there almost every day. But the majority of our meals were prepared at the cottage using the BBQ grill!
Sonia is a pleasure to work with and we would certainly stay here again! Our only complaint was the caretaker and her older son who would walk through the property to get to the beach... he would come and go with his friends. One late night we were enjoying the hot tub and we were pretty startled to have someone walk through at midnight.. it's not something you expect at a private home. The caretaker also used the laundry room for personal laundry the last two days we were there which meant our laundry did not get done. We finally put some wet towels into the dryer and the caretaker approached us saying we should have folded her laundry when we removed it from the dryer to put ours in!
Even with the caretaker issues, we give this place 5 stars. It was an excellent vacation and the above paragraph wasn't anything to change that, just a little annoying to have our privacy disturbed. Everyday we woke up and thought 'this is paradise'. Thank you Sonia for sharing your beach cottage with our family!

Owner's Response: I am so happy that you and your family had a wonderful stay at my beach house and that you were so pleased with the accommodations. I work hard with my staff to provide a well maintained property. What is great about the house is that various family members can choose the unit that fits their needs. The deck provides such a beautiful vista of the gulf and it is my favorite place to enjoy the sunset.
I would like to address your laundry room issue. Normally I have whole house rentals. Then everyone knows each other and can manage and arrange their laundry schedule amongst each other. During your stay you rented 2 units and there were other guests in the third unit. They did their laundry and then left. They checked out before you and my manager's job is to promptly wash the linens and clean the unit to make it ready for the next guests. The clothing that was being done was left by the other guests and those items were being washed to be saved and sent back to whom they belonged. I'm sorry the laundry area was busy when you wanted to use it.
As far as the person you saw walking through the property to get to the beach was not my manager's son. We do have gates and post no trespassing signs. Unfortunately, someone thought they could cut through on private property to access the beach and not walk to the public beach access. The wonderful part about our beach and the town of Indian Rocks is that it is one of the safest places. I'm glad that those were minor inconveniences and did not keep you from giving my house a five star rating.
