Christmas in DC

We rented the house for our family for Christmas week - a great time to be in DC as most people leave. We arrived to a house that was warm, lights on low, music playing and a Christmas tree in the living room. A wonderful welcome. The 4 bedrooms on the second floor accommodated 4 couples nicely and it was great to have the half bath on the first floor. Everything in the house was clean and functional. There was a crib, highchair and futon for the small children. The location was wonderful - we walked or took the Metro everywhere. We used the Eastern Market and the little corner store for all of our groceries and walked to restaurants in the area when we ate out. I don't think the house is great for small children (we had 3 under 3) There are glass art objects everywhere, glass coffee table in the living room, and a glass table in the dining room. Both the front and back stair cases are very steep. Fortunately, neither the children nor the objects got hurt.
