Are you overdue for some rest and relaxation? Is it time to get away from the stress and pressures of everyday living? Step into a place where you can find the serenity that only the closeness to nature can provide. Our Hideout log cabin is located in the shadows of beautiful Rich Mountain. Woods alive with the sounds of songbirds surround you. Hiking trails that include wildflowers and wildlife are just minutes outside your door. Enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee and a good book in your rocking chair on the front porch. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and lots of fun activities are just a close drive away, but most of our guests say the favorite part of their visit is the 'home away from home' experience they get right at the Hideout.

My mom and I have been running our cabin rentals for several years. We do our own cleaning and like to meet our guests personally. The income from the cabin has enabled me to be a stay at home mom when my girls were little, and I pray that our guests are blessed by experiencing a little piece of heaven here in peaceful Townsend!
Townsend is my hometown and is the most beautiful place in the world! My parents encouraged me to buy the property and build the Hideout before I got married and started a family, and boy am I glad they did! I was able to bring my daughters with me to clean the cabin and still be a stay-at-home mom! I will forever be grateful for those years. God has blessed us with the Hideout and we pray it's a blessing to all of our guests.
We stayed at the Hideout for 2 nights this past week & absolutely adored it. It's a very cozy cabin just out of town in Townsend & only about 12 miles from Cades Cove. It fit us & our 3 children just fine. They had a blast in the big jacuzzi tub (my 5 yr old calls it the zucchini tub..lol) There is a flat yard & the owners are right behind it which is very nice in case something goes wrong. The owners are very nice people & make you feel very welcomed. No steep roads to travel. They provide plenty of towels, sheets & pillows. Each bed also has a blanket. The only thing I would recommend is the bathroom door knob needs replaced, but other than that it's perfect. If you like a fan a night (like I do) you may want to bring your own fan & also extra blankets. There is central air, but I like a fan noise at night. If you visit Cades Cove a lot like we do when down there this is the place for you. We enjoyed our stay & plan on coming back! It's also pet friendly! Thanks & God Bless!
These folks are super easy to do business with and have a great location for our type of visit to the smokies. The cabin is less than 5 minutes from Tuckaleechee Caverns (great spot to go on a rainy day) and less than 10 minutes to be entering the Cade's Cove side of the park.
They've adopted a pet-friendly policy for crate trained family members and it worked out great for us.
I don't know where they got their sheets but they are the softest I've ever felt!
We'll be back!
This cabin was the perfect retreat for us. It is private and quiet, yet the owners are close by in case you need anything. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and eating utensils. The bed we used was very comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was great after a long day of hiking! The close proximity to Cades Cove was a plus for us and we biked the loop on a Saturday morning when no car traffic is allowed. Then we went back the next day to do the hike to Abrams Falls, which was lovely! While we didn't use it, the stackable washer/dryer could have been a big plus to this cabin. If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely book this little hideaway!
