Casciana Terme is nestled in the hills outside of Pisa and away from the frenzy of our modern lifestyle. The hot-water spa was once used by the Romans, and now provides a modern establishment with treatments from cosmetic to medical and just general well-being. An outdoor pool with whirlpool, is open all through the year and there is also an indoor swimming pool. In town there are a wide variety of shops, a bike rental, sport complexes, restaurants, coffee shops and pubs; enough to please everybody. In the immediate vicinity you have important historic and artistic sites and plenty of little mediaeval villages to visit. It’s a 40 minute drive to the seaside where you have a choice between the sandy beaches in the Pisa area or the rocky coast to the south by Livorno, (Leghorn). If you are a wine lover or you want to take home some of the extra-virgin olive oil from this area, you can test and buy it at the local producers.
