The house is located on a ridge of a very scenic valley overlooking Gulley Creek, which is a tributary of Lake Bull Shoals. Sometimes it is lake, and sometimes creek depending on the lake level. There is plenty of room and privacy at this location. One can enjoy sunrise from our rear deck and sunset from our covered front porch. The pool gets afternoon shade from the house starting around 2 PM.

On Highway W in Pontiac, MO, on Bull Shoals Lake, Missouri, USA (2 hours From Springfield, MO, 2 hours from Branson, MO, 1 mile from Pontiac Cove Marina)
Pontiac is approximately 5 hours drive from each of these major cities.
Kansas City, St. Louis, Memphis, Little Rock, and Tulsa
The nearest airports are in Branson, MO and Springfield, MO. Each is approximately a 2 hours drive. Auto transportation will be needed to reach Pontiac and while in Pontiac.

90% of total payment refunded if canceled NLT 60 days prior to rental start date.
80% of total payment refunded if canceled NLT 30 days prior.
75% refund if canceled NLT 10 days prior.
(Within 10 days, only deposit and cleaning fee refunded. If we are able to rent for the canceled days we will also refund 80% of the rent.)
Welcome to the Missouri Ozarks and Bull Shoals Lake. Being 5 hours from the nearest major city, Bull Shoals Lake is a virtually undiscovered 'piece of heaven'. This large, clear water lake is both beautiful and scenic.
Lake activities
Enjoy water skiing, tubing, swimming, scuba diving, boating and fishing in this beautiful, clear water lake. Lake temps are comfortable for swimming from June through September, reaching the upper 80's in late summer. So bring your floater and lounge in the water for hours! The lake awaits the fisherman where Missouri record bass have been caught.
Boating
For your boating pleasure Pontiac Cove Marina is just a mile away. The marina offers boat stalls for daily use or annual contract. Boats can also be rented. Supplies can be purchased there. You can dine at Just Jackie's restaurant overlooking the marina. You can find guides for fishing there as well, if you need some expert help.
Float trips
If beautiful clear water spring fed stream floating appeals to you, there are many outfitters in the area.
Hiking
How about hiking... is that your passion? You are welcome to explore our 20 acres of Ozarks forest and bordering Corp of Engineers land. A terrific hike is just 2 miles down the road. It is the 1.5 mile (each way) hike through Core of Engineers land to a lovely place the locals call Buzzard's Bluff. This high bluff overlooks the lake at it's center. Once there you can see for miles over the lake. We will give you detailed directions for this adventure. Caney Mountain Conservation Area is a 30 minute drive and offers hiking in a preserve area. There is lots more hiking available in the nearby Ozark Mountains.
Golfing
If you are a golfer, the Lost Woods Golf Course, formerly called Theodosia Country Club is just 30 minutes away.
Hunting
If you are a hunter, this is great deer and turkey hunting country. You are welcome to hunt on our 20 acres, as well as on thousands of acres of Corp of Engineers land surrounding the lake. Our property borders this Corp of Engineers land.
Entertainment
We are 2 hours from Branson and Silver Dollar City. What more can we say about entertainment?!
Historic Ozark County, MO offers many old time sights to see.
Lounging around
If you are just looking to relax, soak up sun, read a book, swim and hot tub, just use our house. The deck faces east for morning scenery and sunshine. Relax on the deck and watch the buzzards catch a morning updraft. These are the most ugly but graceful birds you can imagine, soaring high in the sky with their 6 ft wingspan. In the winter, you will see bald eagles flying the valley by the house. The heated pool and hot tub await your pleasure. Evening sunset can be enjoyed from the covered front porch. In the evening you will realize that there aren't any bugs and mosquitoes! Well, we should say almost no mosquitoes. The rocky shore line and mountains are not conducive to mosquitoes, so we are never bothered by those creatures.
Necessities
The town of Gainesville, MO (the county seat) is a 20 minute drive from Pontiac. Gainesville offers most of the services you would need. There is a grocery store, a building supply/hardware store, two banks, restaurants, gas stations, Dollar General, real estate offices, churches, a medical clinic, a public library, Ozark county court house, auto repair shops, a used car dealer and other businesses to supply most of your needs.
