DreamShore Cottage is a genuine old time Maine Summer House dating from the 1880s. Although it hasn’t been changed much, you’ll find the rustic charm remains even with all the modern conveniences and recent renovations.

Several years ago we were faced with what to do with this historic house. It is one of the last of its kind on the coast and most have been converted to McMansions or, long-ago, fell down. Any serious upgrade would have lost the charm of a simpler life and we chose to keep it, as much as possible, in its original form. It was once a summer inn with several wharves on the shore and steamer service to Bar Harbor. We have upgraded all the bathrooms and bedding and made it easier to keep clean, but it is still an old time Maine Summer Camp.
Our wonderful land is located on the east end of Berry's Cove with great views of Frenchman’s Bay and Mt. Desert Island along with direct access to the shore across the front lawn. With a southwest exposure, you’ll love the bright sunny days and gorgeous sunsets. You’ll be surrounded by lots of wonderful wildlife, including eagles, loons, herons, and many other sea and shore birds.
There are so many tourist attractions in the area it would be impossible to name them all. Enjoy all the amenities of nearby Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor with just a 25 minute drive (approximately 3 miles away by water). Northeast and Southwest Harbor and Blue Hill are all close by.. The main commercial area is Ellsworth (15 minutes drive) with everything you could ever need. There are numerous music festivals throughout the summer, excellent restaurants, and even a cinema for rainy days. Fun attractions include several scenic flight and whale watch companies, professional kayak tours, logging shows, miniature golf, and much more. There is a beautiful and clean swimming pond within easy walking distance over the woods path and of course you can brave the Atlantic on the shore. Lamoine Beach is a couple miles down the road as is the Lamoine State Park.
There is an outside Fire Pit available at owner's discretion. Use will be curtailed during dry weather.

Please Note: Dreamshore Cottage is on 12 acres of shorefront property that also includes our home and Dreamshore Studio which can be rented with the Cottage for additional guests.
