Beautiful, Brand New home 1 block from the beach in Ocean City's South End

The house was exactly as described - it is a beautiful, brand new home just a short walk to the beach. We spent a wonderful week on the beach with our two teenaged children (14 and 16). The house was spotless, the furniture was very comfortable, and everything worked perfectly.

Dan (the owner) was very friendly and helped prepare us for our first trip to Ocean City. He recommended a couple of nearby restaurants which were very good. We enjoyed visiting the boardwalk and would highly recommend pizza at Mack and Mancos. It was also nice to come back to the peace and quiet at the south end of the island where the house is located.

We would highly recommend this property and would absolutely rent here again.

We lucked into this new duplex on the south side of Ocean City for our vacation last week. I am sure that the fact that the unit is just finished, was the only reason it was still on the market for us to rent.

Start with the location: four lots south of 58th on Asbury, made it a very simple walk to the beach. We even used our own bathrooms as it was not much further than the public restrooms on 59th. The 58th street beach was not to crowded and an easy walk into Corson's Inlet if you wanted more space. It was a great position on the beach to watch the kite-surfers to the south and surfers to the north (or do those things if you were interested. 55th has some restaurants and shops for immediate needs, and it was easy to get downtown or to the boardwalk with the trolley or your car. Honestly love the location and we may choose to make the south end our standard location in OC. Even had a nice ocean breeze on the porch most nights.

Now the unit: Brand-new is pretty hard to beat. Obviously everything was is great shape, as it was new. LCD TVs in all bedrooms (On Demand in the master and On Demand and DVD player in kids room). Good quality (especially for a rental) mattresses and furniture throughout the house. The sleeper sofa had an air mattress and our one guest said it was more comfortable than their Sleep Number bed. WiFi was great for the devices (iPod/iPhone/iPad). Kitchen was a very good rental kitchen, stainless with granite, decent cabinet and refrigerator space. Front porch was nicely furnished and a very enjoyable place to hang out in the evening as the kids tried to catch frogs with other kids staying on the block. Driveway fits one car, with a garage (no opener) that could fit another car, or bikes and beach gear (as we used it). Outside shower was nice (much nicer than many past rentals). The bathrooms were nice and clean and the stacked Washer/Dryer was great. The living area was nicely furnished with plenty of comfortable seating and a great TV. Dining table was nice and easily accommodated our 4, and could easily do 6. The kids used the stools on the island for breakfast and liked that space.

Final thoughts: Great owners to work with. They sent a list of things to remember and pack before we left and followed up soon after our stay. Easily the best owners we have rented from, and very responsive. They included use of 8 beach tags which was a great money saver. No doubt that we would rent it again.

We loved that the house was brand new, especially the great flat panel TVs and well equipped modern kitchen. The location at the south end of the island was quiet. A walk on the beach to Corsons Inlet and Strathmere Bay at the southern tip of the island is very scenic and the trails through the wilderness were an unexpected surprise. We also recommend heading north into town for breakfast ay Uncle Bill’s. A great place to stay.
