Situated on an acre overlooking a lake & Forest Service land, this home has everything you need to get away from it all yet stay connected to civilization. This modern cabin the woods, built in 2002, has high speed Internet, washer/dryer, microwave, home theater system, iPod dock, gas grill & satellite TV, yet feels far and away from your busy, everyday world. Enjoy quiet evenings by a crackling fire in the chiminea on the deck watching beavers, ducks & blue herons as the sun sets over Duck Lake. Spend the rainy evening indoors with the warmth of the propane stove watching TV or DVDs & eating popcorn. Drive the back roads to Glacier Park, seeing beautiful forest & river views typical Glacier Park visitors never see!

About Romany Norris, property owner

We've loved the Mountain West since we were introduced to it in the early 1980's and finally moved into the Rocky Mountain Region in 1995. We love to spend time in the National Parks located in the Western US and just generally explore this fabulous area of the country. When we aren't dreaming of being independently wealthy, we are working hard at our jobs to earn 'play' money so we can continue exploring the Western US and beyond. And no, we're not in the Witness Protection Program as some of our friends have suggested we may be when they saw this photo of us. :- )

We bought our home near Glacier National Park because it was the quintessential 'cabin in the woods' on a small lake, yet close enough to civilization to give us all the comforts of life we have become accustomed to. The house's proximity to Glacier National Park, Kalispell, Whitefish and Bigfork (Flathead Lake) is fabulous! It's essentially 20 minutes away from everything.

What makes this cabin unique

We have thoroughly enjoyed watching the wildlife from our deck overlooking Duck Lake (moose, bear, beaver, heron, eagles, osprey and, of course, ducks) including the little squirrels and chipmunks around the house, and love the wonderful 'back road' access to Glacier National Park. The house is centrally located to virtually anything one would want to do while visiting the area -- Glacier Park, Flathead Lake, Polebridge, Whitefish & more. Secluded, yet still quite close to everything. Even Glacier International Airport is only about a 20 minute drive from the house!

Gorgeous and peaceful location with great GNP access. The "cabin" is impeccably maintained and extremely well managed by the owners'. It literally has all the comforts of home, AND it also happens to be located next to paradise. It was clean, well-appointed, spacious and a good value (and everything worked too). Great experience in every category. Thank you for sharing it with others.

We had a great stay at your cabin in Oct 2012. Your impeccably maintained home on a picturesque lake in the woods has all the modern technology and comforts of my home - and everything was is 1st class condition. Your detailed and easy to follow directions for getting to the cabin, and what to do once we got there, made it easy for us to feel right at home. All of my high exceptions for a nice "cabin" in the woods were exceeded. Access to GNP was fabulous by using any of the nearby entrances of Camas Creek, Polebridge, or West Glacier (via Blankenship cut-off). Finally, thank you for returning our entire security deposit within 12-hrs of departure! You are the best owner's I've stayed with yet...

Vacation We Will Always Remember

My husband and I traveled to Montana for the first time this fall and absolutely fell in love with the area and this beautiful home that we were so fortunate to find. The minute I walked into the house, I had a huge smile on my face and thought "WOW", this is home....for us the 5 days that we stayed were way to short. We are self employed and it was really nice to have a place to work while you are "on vacation" also. We had all the amenties of home and it was just wonderful. It is so amazingly quiet and serene...just what we needed. All the books and directions of everything to do in the area were perfect and spot on... I can't wait to come back again and stay longer. Thank you so much for the best vacation we have had in 20 years!!!!

Coming back...

We (Two adult couples) spent eight days at this wonderful cabin. Beautifully located on a pond, surrounded by pines and aspens, it was the perfect location to return to every evening after very busy and strenuous days. The kitchen was filled with every item needed to make great homemade meals, the bedrooms large and comfortable, and the washer/dryer combo was especially appreciated!

The cabin is semi-isolated, yet within a few miles of a winery, the entrance to Glacier National Park, and several restaurants. Columbia Falls and Whitefish are close by making a run to the store a breeze.

We can only hope to make a return trip within the next few years, and if so, this cabin will be our home away from home once again.

We received the following message via email this evening from guests who stayed at the home in August 2011 and were so honored that we had to share:

"We rented your Glacier vacation home in 2011 - the time the bear swam across the lake. I just wanted to share that we still talk about that vacation all the time. We went to Hawaii this year, renting another VRBO home. It was really beautiful and had a great view, but we still enjoyed Montana more.

On our plane ride to Seattle on the way to Hawaii, the pilot mentioned we were flying over MT and my girls said they wished we could get off the plane right there! We went on to have a nice vacation in HI but now they have mentioned wanting to return to your place.

So, just wanted you to know we enjoyed our time at your home so much that we still talk about it and hope to go back. Maybe soon?!?"
