I'm Ryan Kirby (I go by Kirby), the House Manager for the UK-based owner and an independent vacation rental manager. I have been managing the home since 2011.
Ryan Kirby - House Manager purchased this house in 2011
The owner wanted a waterfront property with a pool in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of restaurants and shops and a short drive to the beach.
After buying the home in late 2011 the owner completely re-decorated inside and out and furnished it in a contemporary but comfortable style.
The home is in an up-market residential neighborhood with a variety of shops, restaurants, a gym and a bank within walking distance and the beach a short drive away, combining the benefits of peace and quiet with a very convenient location.
My wife and I wanted to provide some feedback on the Goodchild home.
We were quite pleased with the series of upgrades, especially in the kitchen and on the outside patio. My wife especially took note of the kitchen "makeover". We were impressed that the owner continues to make upgrades and improvements to a property which we have been pleased to live in over the New year holiday for the past three-four years.
My two week stay at the beginning of June was my first experience of Florida, and I loved the location of Coral Heights; situated in a quiet, upmarket residential area, yet close to excellent shopping, restaurants and attractions such as the Everglades. The house was not only fully equipped to a high specification, but each room was also thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and furnished much in the style of our 'boutique' Hotels in England.
The pool and patio area, overlooking the canal, provide a perfect place for relaxing, (even more so I'm sure with the recent refurbishment of the outside space) and I spent many an hour enjoying the peace and quiet, reading a book in the hammock, enjoying the company of the Geckos!
Dale, the agent managing Coral Heights, was warm, helpful and accommodating at all times, and I would highly commend a stay here for anyone looking for a holiday in Fort Lauderdale.
I travel a great deal for work and do many long-haul trips to Europe and Asia. Rarely do I do domestic trips. But I had to do a combined business/pleasure trip to Ft Lauderdale and stayed at this property. I am fortunate that for my work-related travels I stay in 4-5-star properties. The downside is that you become spoiled.
I was extremely delighted with the level of cleanliness, the actual accommodations were perfect, the beds of excellent quality. One thing that impressed me most was that each time I found myself in the kitchen and went to reach for a utensil, a pot, a glass, it was almost always exactly where I would reach for it, meaning that it was well-thought out and located intuitively. I commented about that to the agent, who actually laughed that I was so bowled over by something so simple.
The water pressure was excellent, the outdoor area is incredibly serene, very quiet, I didn't hear a single neighbor. The pool has recently been refurbished and was impeccably clean. It was a treat to sit outdoors in the evenings sipping a glass of wine and just taking in the clear air and letting my thoughts meld into the lightly rippling water from the canal--it was almost like unconscious meditation.
The house is in a great location, easy to find, quiet street with little traffic and easy access to anything you could possibly need.
As prior reviews have mentioned, the quality of linens while not Frette, was of very high quality, especially for a seasonal rental.
I became a huge fan of the place and give it highest marks on all counts. I will definitely stay again.
I stayed with my family for a week from 4/6/13-4/13/13. The home was spotless and very well stocked with all you could need for a vacation home. The linens, towels, appliances and kitchen amenities are all of high quality and appeared to be well cared for. The back yard is an oasis, and we enjoyed the pool, lounge chairs and especially the hammock. Our son caught loads of fish (puffer, snapper and sheepshead) in the canal right behind the house. The location is great, with easy access to the beach, supermarkets, restaurants and tons of other activities.
While we enjoyed loafing at the house, we also ventured out quite a bit and took in a Marlins game in Miami, an airboat tour in the everglades, a fishing charter out of Ft Lauderdale and visited several of the nearby beach state parks (which are gorgeous). Each of these activities was within reasonable driving distance.
Dale (the agent) was great as well, and was very responsive. We arrived late on Saturday and had some trouble opening the lockbox (our fault), and Dale responded to messages very quickly even though it was Saturday night. The only minor issue we had was a burned out pool light, which Dale had fixed within 24 hours.
Overall, a great stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again when I visit the Ft Lauderdale area.
My golfing buddies and I have made an annual trip to Florida to play golf for the past 10+ years. We have stayed at numerous rental properties and our experience with this home and the house manager was one of our best. The house manager was very professional, he responded to all of our questions/concerns and he returned the security deposit within a couple days following our departure. The house was amazing, it was very clean, a pleasant living environment and came with all the essentials we needed for our trip. I would agree with the house manager that it is not suitable for young children since there is an unprotected canal at the rear of the house.
My family and I stayed here April 3rd-9th and thuroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was just as it was pictured on line! I would highly recommend this house to anyone! The location is a close driving distance to beaches shops and restaraunts. It was very tastefully decorated, clean and is equipped with everything you would need! The house manager was very quick to respond to any questions we had prior to and during our stay! The back yard was our our own tropical oasis! I just can't say enough! A big thanks for making a big part of our vacation perfect!
Great 3 BR Ft. Lauderdale rental. Would recommend home and rental company to anyone. Ten minute cab ride to beach place, close to downtown. All upgraded, flat screens everywhere. Would definitely rent again.
