Midtown log home, less than a mile to lake. Big yard. Big back yard patio with fire pit, huge fenced, flat, and private yard, big and welcoming cool front porch perfect for the hot summer, newly updated, fun art, comfortable beds, & an attached garage.
High on walk-ability and bicycling. We are close to some great restaurants like Syringa, and Bistro on Spruce. Walk only 3 blocks to Pilgrims Organic Market & Deli for groceries and wine, and we're just a few blocks from Bicycle Sales and Service on 4th Street Bike rentals: http://www.bicycleservice.com/ .
Built in 1906 it was a working farm in its early days. The home was well cared for all those years, and in over 100 years we are fortunate to be just the 3rd owners.
The log house is a big 4-bedroom home with brand new eco-friendly super comfortable cushy beds – 2 queens, a king in the master bedroom, and a bedroom that features twin beds. A full-sized sofa bed in the den folds out for company and we provide a queen air bed if needed.
We furnished this majestic home in our eclectic, artsy, colorful and comfortable style, displaying a lot of northwest and local art throughout the house.
The front porch is wide and comfortable and features a big porch swing - wonderful for enjoying warm summer evenings.
The fenced back yard is huge and private - a great gathering place for you with Adirondacks, a fire-pit, picnic tables and a BBQ. There are lots of lilacs and fruit trees including 5 apple, 1 plum, and 1 pear.
Our location is perfect for freeway or downtown access and is very close to our favorite restaurants We are within a short walk to downtown and are very close to the up and coming midtown area with its cute shops and restaurants.
This house is a work of love for us and we look forward to sharing it with you.
Please email us with how many people will be staying and what kind of function you are coming to town for. Late in the summer we will be putting our beautiful home up for sale. All showings will be by appointment only and will not conflict with tenants stays.

We are locals and have lived in the area for decades. Both of us spent our summer vacations on Coeur d'Alene Lake when we were kids and are grateful to now live full-time in the play area of our youth. Nick is a fireman and Carol is an RN who also authored and illustrated a popular local children's book called Raising Lucy. She works as an Artist in Residence in schools across the state of Idaho, and operates a publishing consulting firm.
Carol purchased this house in 2011
This is our home. We loved it for years before we bought it, because of it's a beautiful log home and because of the size of the lot - it is huge and private and is close to downtown and mid-town. There is something magical about the house. We wanted to be close enough to walk to downtown for Art Walk, the fireworks, and other events. We also liked the unique property and its history along with the fact that it is not smack dab right next door to neighbors. The house and its property has a woodsy in-the-forest feel.
Walking distance to restaurants, sushi, bars, and organic market. Fire pit, BBQ, Privacy. Unique woodsy setting - big sunny back yard. Tipi, patio, private back yard. Truly your own private Idaho!
Great accessibility to everything in town, restaurants, bicycling, and lake fun.
This home is as charming & beautiful as it is comfortable; the huge backyard and darling front porch are bonuses! I loved the convenient walk to the natural food store and delicious sushi restaurant (both just a few short blocks away). The house's owners are delightful, generous and accommodating.
Thank you for a relaxing and wonderful spring break!
We loved our visit to the Muzik home. We visited in December so we weren't able to use the backyard and front porch, although we could see that it was beautiful. The inside of the home was gorgeous, so beautifully decorated! The beds were comfortable. We had plenty of room to spread out and relax. The basement rec room was comfortable for movie viewing. The kitchen had everything we needed. I enjoyed all the little touches, special dishes, etc.
This was the perfect arrangement for a family separated by distance. Plenty of room for privacy, yet great family spaces to share meals and downtime. When I couldn't bring the family to my home, I was able to bring a homelike venue to family. The home was big and roomy with plenty of gathering rooms for all. We were close to great restaurants, (Tito's and Ipenema), and conveniences like grocery stores. The owners have gone to great lengths to provide a warm environment and a truly great experience for our family. Many Thanks.
We rented the house for a wedding weekend and it held our family of four married couples and three little grandsons just perfectly. We enjoyed the big farmhouse kitchen, the huge back yard with picnic tables, fire pit, and plenty of chairs, the garage for storing our bikes, and the remodeled basement bathroom. The house was well equipped and very comfortable, plus convenient to Pilgrim's Market. We all enjoyed it very much and would definitely rent it again!
We were lucky enough to spend 10 months in this beautiful home. The owners are wonderful to their tenants, always ensuring we were comfortable and things worked well at the house. We stayed from August to June and loved the house. It's a bit drafty in the dead of winter, so pull on an extra sweater and use the (provided) throw blankets. We love using the patio and firepit - the front porch is ideal for a warm afternoon read (or nap) on the swing. Very well appointed - you won't need to bring any kitchen supplies, even the knives are good and sharp. Plenty of tableware and plastic for little tykes. Just a couple blocks north of the garden district, so walking the neighborhood is nice. The lake is a short drive or about a mile walk. There to Tubbs Hill, around and back is about a 4.5 mi hike. Highest recommendation!!
We stumbled upon this house while we were looking for a property that would accommodate our two dogs. As soon as we saw the pictures of the backyard we were hooked! Huge lot with grass (a real treat for the Vegas crowd!) and those chairs!
We were in town for our wedding and wanted a central location so our house guests could get around town without renting a car. A taxi to downtown was super inexpensive and usually resulted in a walk back.
The house is very spacious and with 8 guests filling it up it was amazing how you still could have your own space and privacy. There was never a time we were running into each other.
Carol was so attentive during the whole rental process. She was organized and made it clear what was needed for a happy stay at the property. She made herself available if you were in need of anything.
Awesome experience, memorable week and a great first experience using VRBO.
Thank You Carol and Nick for playing a huge part in our wedding week!
Our big yard is perfect for BBQs, and family get-togethers.
