Wow: Location, Location, Location!!!

Ideally situated in Wasatch National Forest this secluded and serene cabin has Little Cottonwood Creek in its backyard with granite cliffs, rocky crags, pristine forest and even valley views from the three decks, five skylights and many windows.

Approximately eight minutes from world class Snowbird and Alta ski resorts you never get stuck in hours of traffic at the mouth of the canyon because you are already in the canyon-yet grocery stores, nightlife and restaurants are only ten minutes down Little Cottonwood road. (On snowy days, take advantage of owners resident pass which grants you access in and out of closed canyon).

This one of a kind three story hundred year old pioneer cabin has more than doubled in size with a 1000 square foot addition. The original section has been beautifully restored and the rest of the home totally renovated throughout.

No detail has been overlooked and every amenity has been thoughtfully provided for your care-free stay.

Cabin still has original outside stone cooking stove but now features totally decked out gourmet twenty foot long indoor kitchen with fireplace and gathering area! The all granite counters, top of the line stainless steel appliances and a built-in eight foot granite eating island give real meaning to the joy of cooking!

After a great day on the slopes or playing outdoors relax in the two person jacuzzi or the soaking tub upstairs. Then enjoy dinner and a crackling fire. Finally, take in a movie before bed (over fifty new title dvd's to choose from) in the spacious living room (seriously, the couch is 17 feet long) with the 60 inch TV and surround sound theater system.

Wood floors and wood ceilings abound in this gorgeous cabin and the bedrooms are huge and meticulously decorated. One of the bedrooms upstairs even has a built in 'mini cabin' for the kids to play in while adults enjoy free time!

About The Owner

We are a husband/wife construction team and the parents of five beautiful children ages five to eighteen..

My husband (general contractor) and I (historic renovator and design specialist) have been building and restoring properties together for thirteen years. We have property on the National Historic Register and take a great deal of pride in our work. Please see VRBO #271573 for our last project. Our work together is top-notch as we are both perfectionists and artists at our craft. This is our life-love and we hope to share it with you!

Why The Owner chose Snowbird

We are entirely smitten by this canyon and its pristine and total beauty during all four seasons. We are avid skiers (all seven of us ski together weekly) and Snowbird and Alta Resorts provide the best skiing we have ever experienced. We will most certainly retire here when our children grow up. Thus, when this renovation project came up, we just couldn't say no!

We love being in nature and yet being close to everything the city has to offer too!

This is a great get away and a peaceful respite from the hectic bustle of everyday life. Our children laugh, play, swing, catch lizards and we go on walks and investigate nature up here. We cook great meals and spend quality family time together playing games, watching movies and just hanging out. What more could you ask for!?!

Recently stayed 18 days at this property, it is homely, warm and has a lot of amenities such as BBQ, outdoor heaters, double spa bath open fire. The house is nicer and bigger than it looks in the photo's and we really enjoyed the stay. Good for up to 3 couples or more if singles sharing a room.

Great cabin

We (family of 2 adults & 2 children) spent 3 wonderful weeks in this beautiful cabin. It had everything we needed and the setting the cabin is in is just spectacular. The location with just a 10 minute or so drive to Snowbird and Alta further up the Canyon and nearby shopping in the opposite direction is so handy. Deb, the owner, is a pleasure to deal with although we had little need to contact her once we had settled in as the cabin was so well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We loved our time at the cabin so much that we have already organized our stay for next year. For anyone thinking of staying at the cabin, we would recommend to go ahead and do it, you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful house

The house is spacious, very clean, new kitchen with all appliances and lots of dishes, new bathrooms, huge TV with nice movie collection, wifi, phone, board games, books, comfortable beds with plenty of blankets and comforters, and all lovingly decorated with all sorts of knickknacks.

A week of family fun ski trip!

We were extremely impressed with the workmanship put into this charming and comfortable cabin. The interior was clean and there was plenty of room for our family of 4. Their entertainment system had plenty of movies for both adults and kids. The long seating area in the living room was fun and so comfortable to relax on. It was a pleasure cooking our family meals in the kitchen with new stainless steel appliances, great cookware, utensils, and cutlery. They were well stocked with just about everything. The owners were very kind and generous to work with and easy to get in touch during our stay. The surrounding area of the property is majestic and very serene. During snow season where days are warm and nights are cold, a 4 wheel drive comes in handy to get in and out of the area when road conditions turn icy. The proximity to the ski resorts is pleasantly close, just a short 10-12 minute drive (for us anyway, since we were not too familiar with the area and were not used to driving in snow terrain). All in all, our family had a positive experience and enjoyed our stay at this property.

This Christmas we broke tradition, left all our family behind, and met friends for a week skiing in Utah, and this cabin was the most perfect home-for-a-week we could have imagined! We committed to the rental having seen only "under construction" photos, so we didn't really know what to expect. Walking in the door on Christmas Eve was the best Christmas present ever! The owners worked their tails off to get the cabin renovations finished down to the last candle arrangement on the table and stocking holders on the mantle so that we could walk in and make Christmas happen for the four little ones. It was beautiful! Coming from California and Virginia the kids don't get to see each other often, but they all happily disappeared into the magical kid's cabin-within-a-cabin upstairs, while the four grownups sprawled over the giant couch catching up. And yes, 17 feet of couch comfortably fits four adults and four kids, with room for more! As a vegan/vegetarian crowd, we really appreciated the fully stocked gourmet kitchen (and the WholeFoods not too far away) and spent many happy hours cooking and congregating in the kitchen. The owners anticipated every need we may have had, and we found the cabin fully furnished with top-quality linens, appliances, and so many extras (like the welcome basket and candy cane tree!) that I can't even list them. Alta and Snowbird are just a few minutes deeper into Little Cottonwood Canyon, and Solitude and Brighton are easy to get to in the next canyon over- we tried them all! The adults liked Snowbird best, but the kids (two 5years old, and two 8years old) preferred Solitude overall (although they did have one special favorite run at Snowbird). Despite being the least snowiest December on record, this was a wonderful week. And I know that our two families kicked off the start of a VERY Happy New Year for this special cabin! Thank you SO MUCH!!!
