JOY OF LIVING - PURGATORY MOUNTAIN RETREAT

We decided our permanent get away would be on the mountain between Durango and Silverton because of what the immediate area offers. From hiking or sledding just out the back door to the free shuttle service to Durango Mountain Resort during ski season, indoor swimming pool and outdoor hot tubs under the stars it is the perfect place for us. The area is easy to reach by car in a day trip from Phoenix, northern Texas, New Mexico, Las Vegas or parts of California and the airport in Durango is convenient for those from further away. Our condo unit space is very well planned with ample underground parking which can be a real blessing in snowy months and protection for your car during sudden summer rain or hail storms. The floor plan is multi-functional and roomy with over 1,600 square feet to spread out and relax in. The condo provides private space in each bedroom, 3 large bathrooms and plenty of community space for eating or relaxing together including a cozy loft with TV and DVD player to get away from the crowd downstairs when you need to or when the kids need a little space of their own. With only a short drive into Durango or Silverton, Cascade Village provides a home base with easy access to a wide variety of local activities both winter and summer months and is a delightful quiet get away in spring with amazing color and delightful weather in the fall. We are located just far enough out of town to experience a tranquil atmosphere even in the high summer and winter seasons but yet close enough to towns to partake of the area festivals, shopping, restaurants and events. It has proven to be the perfect location for all our needs and hope you will find it as wonderful a spot as we do. In the over 8 years we have been coming to this area we still never get enough of the amazing outdoors, delightful experiences in town or the simple, breathtaking majesty of the mountains that surrounds us here and allows us to shut out the rest of the world.

You will find all the comforts of home at Casa Gioia Di Vivere. We have provided for your convenience comfy robes in each bedroom. There are soft coverlets for use in front of the fireplace where you can enjoy Cable TV, a selection of DVD's (or bring your own), games and books. Our well equipped kitchen has some of our favorite family recipes and spices for your enjoyment. The upstairs loft welcomes you with reclining rocking chairs, another TV with a DVD player, pillows, candles and reading materials. The Master Suite offers a private escape with a oversize rain shower and 4 body sprays in the bathroom as well as a walk out balcony with incredible views and King size bed. ** Please plan to bring breakfast groceries as there are limited restaurants in the immediate area that provide a morning meal ** In summer months we have gravity recliners on both balconies and a small coleman grill for your use. Our home is decorated with some local art and flavors of all the outdoor sports we are so passionate about here in the San Juans. You will notice the wonderful architecture of our buildings reminding your of an alpine chalet with thick walls, heavy exposed wood beams and vaulted ceilings throughout the units. The ambiance of the design will add to your alpine experience and as one of our guests recently said to me 'Your condo clearly is in one beautiful spot on the planet! Covered,protected parking directly outside you door under the unit with a private entrance steps from you car can be a real lifesaver in bad weather and so much easier to transport luggage and groceries than a remote parking lot offered at many of the other area facilities. Our Mountain home was just completely painted outside and inside the garage. Our home is family and group friendly. Experience tells us that we are well set up for groups of guys on a ski week - ladies on a retreat or families reconnecting with each other and nature.
