Durango Mountain Resort Area - Approximately 30 miles north of the Town of Durango and 23 miles south of Silverton.
One mile north of the ski resort immediately off highway 550. Hiking, biking, skiing, rafting, horseback riding, the silverton train are all in the area.
Other Activities: kayaking,rafting, skiing ( cross country and down hill ) and snowboarding, wildlife viewing, snowmobiling, shopping, ice climbing and snowshoeing. Fantastic hiking for all levels of adventurist. Rapp Corrals for horseback riding or horse drawn sleigh rides in the winter. A wonderful farm with organic beef pork, eggs and vegetables in the summer and fall within a few miles.
Golf: Golfing in the Durango area is an experience! As you meander through the courses you will see the occasional deer wander on the course or hear the peaceful ripple of the streams running through. The canyons and mountains are a dramatic backdrop for every course and the cool clear mountain air on a hot summer day will keep you coming back for more ! There are challenging and forgiving courses each with their own special ambiance.
Ski: Durango Mountain Resort just one mile south of our vacation home provides amazing snow activities from early December through April. From tubing to black diamond ski runs and everything in between the mountain is fantastic for the beginning skier to the novice professional with amazing views and terrain parks. The trails are well marked and there are plenty of spots all over the mountain for friends and family to meet for a warm meal and relaxing rest before heading out for the next adventure filled run.
