He home was in great shape when we arrived. The pool came in handy for winding down after a long day at the parks. We will use this home again for our next Orlando vacation. Great house for a great price!!
This was our 14th stay on sunset lakes since our first visit in 1999 and our first stay in Blue horizon Crt , What most people wouldnt know is that the location of this home is ideal all year round especially in the winter months as it captures the sun all day whereas on the other side of the lake is not so lucky , the home itself is very well maintained and very clean and tidy and coupled with a very efficient & friendly owners and management team this home is a definite winner for familes and couples alike for all what Orlando has to offer.
I apologize for the tardiness in posting this review. The home is very well appointed and is appropriately stocked as clearly stated in the contract. It was a rock solid “home base.” It allowed us the freedom to undertake new adventures and collect life long memories then return home. It has an exceptional location; close to everything yet a peaceful, quiet respite from the crowds. It offers a great view of the water.
The house is impeccably clean. The pool, spa, floors, linens, bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen were CLEAN upon arrival. The kitchen has everything you need. Of course, you still have to buy your own food. There are many, close by, markets. This is by far the healthiest and most frugal option.
There are other ancillary amenities such as cable TVs, Wi-Fi, community pool and a playground a few steps from the front door. Honestly, this property is beyond perfect. I was surprised that someone isn’t a permanent resident. This will be our go-to property in the future. I am particularly grateful that the owner allows others (strangers no less) to rent this lovely/fabulous home.
My favorite was the private, screened in pool and spa. The kids absolutely LOVED it. There is even a full sized washer and dryer so that I was able to wash laundry before returning to the northeast.
In summary: The property is picture perfect and well maintained. Buy your own consumables contributes to the hominess of the property. It is private yet has access to everything. Choosing/ renting this property made this vacation GREAT. In fact, it was better than perfect.
We treated our daughter to a Disney trip for her 6th birthday. My husband's only request was to stay in a home instead of the Disney Resorts so we could have a place to unwind and so my daughter could swim in the pool without 6,000 other people around. So I chose this house. My husband LOVES to fish so the lake was perfect! My daughter absolutely loved fishing with her daddy as I was able to sit by the pool and be able to watch them fish. Now that's my kind of relaxation! Next time we decide to come to the Orlando area we would not want to stay anywhere else. Thank you so much for opening your beautiful home to us as it was perfect!
It was just what we needed for my three daughters, my husband and me. It was close to the theme parks, had a nice pool, and plenty of space for us. I would give it the fifth star if more toilet paper, coffee filters, dish soap and laundry soap (for the towels and sheets we washed before we left) were supplied. We have already suggested this VRBO to our friends.
If I could give this rental 3.5 stars, I would- and I would rent it again the next time we go back to Orlando. The house location is fantastic. Backing up to a lake allows for privacy that is lacking in other communities. That being said, the walls are thin, and at 11pm when the renters next door were being loud in the pool, we could hear every word in the master bedroom. I was very thankful we only had the one set of neighbors to worry about!
My complaints are small, but they are valid. When we arrived, it was 5 minutes to 4, and the maid was still there vacuuming. Not a problem as check in was 4pm. She let us start to bring our stuff in as she finished up. The pool was covered because the heat had been turned out, but she said that it was fine to use.... When we uncovered it the pool was noticeably green. The day was overcast, and we thought maybe the pool bottom was painted green or the wall reflection was on the pool. The water smelled funny though. The next day it was rainy and we swam for 20 minutes. On the 3rd day, the neighbor pointed out that the pool was green and that we should call maintenance. The pool man had come that day while we were at Disney, and low and behold our pool was now blue and not green and no longer smelled funny. It is disappointing that our pool was "off color, smell, and chemical balance" for the first 3 days there.
My second complaint is the garbage. The bins were 95% full when we got there on a Wednesday- garbage day is a Monday... the mgmt company told me to put them in black garbage bags- which we did not have.
The kitchen is not fully stocked- there is no frying pan to make eggs, and the sauce pans need to be tossed and replaced. Black flecks from the pan bottom ended up in our soup when I was warming up a can of Campbells and therefore our food had to be tossed.
The house needs more blankets-I think an extra blanket per bed. we only used 3 of the beds and piled all the blankets on us- it was in the 40s at night and felt awfully cold.
Lastly was the cleanliness of the house. For a house that a maid supposedly cleans for 6 hrs, it was not up to my satisfaction. the kitchen cupboard fronts are dirty and sticky, and the master bathroom shower had mold growing in the corners.
I think that if a management company is checking the house out between renters, they should notice the problems we noticed. I expect a house to be ready for me, not a green pool and moldy shower.
