THE DOVE CALL IS A 3 BEDROOM, SINGLE-STORY COMFORTABLE HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Rehoboth Beach House Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom, 2 baths, deck & patio 3 blocks to beach/boardwalk

Our home is located just outside Rehoboth city limits. It is one half block W. of Silver Lake. A 5-7 minute walk to Atlantic Ocean/beach/boardwalk on the East side of Highway One. This quiet area has off-street parking for 2 cars and because you are outside city limits, you don't need a parking permit to park on the street. We have tenants that return each year to this home because the house is well-maintained, its on a quiet street that is close enough to walk to everything, and its kept very clean and provides you with everything you need to enjoy your vacation as if you were in your own home. My husband is a local general contractor for over 25 years. We purchased this home in 2004. We renovated the entire place (inside and out). We are hands-on Landlords that pride ourselves with providing our tenants with a clean, fresh home to vacation at, just like we want when we travel. We allow some folks to travel with their dogs, but expect them to take care of our home.

Things to know and see: just 1/2 block from The Dove Call is a stop for the Jolly Trolly. This is a reasonably priced Trolly car that can take you to Dewey Beach where you will find lots of bars, restaurants, shops, jet skis and more beaches, or to Rehoboth Avenue, where you will find more great restaurants, shops, arcades, Funland (kids rides), and Rehoboth beach's one mile boardwalk and much more. The Trolly is a way to get to lots more places without trying to find metered or permit parking. However, if you do want to park a bit closer to the beach, you will need to either feed the meters, or in some areas where no meters are located you will need a parking permit. These can be obtained at City Hall on Rehoboth Avenue or just across the white bridge heading into Rehoboth near Silver Lake. About two blocks on your right you will see blue umbrellas with a person there selling these permits for the City of Rehoboth Beach. You can purchase daily or for the week.

Nearby attractions:: Big Fish Grille is a great seafood restaurant just one mile from this house. It also has a seafood market attached to it if you would rather cook at the house on the grill or inside. Victoria's Restaurant is an upscale restaurant located at the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel on the Boardwalk overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Catchers is a simple, really good seafood restaurant on Rehoboth Avenue right near Starbucks and Cultured Pearl (a sushi restaurant). If you are in the mood for a GREAT Steak--you don't want to miss 1776 Restaurant which is in the same plaza as the Movie Theaters on Route One North (approximately 3 miles from The Dove Call). Grotto Pizza is the most popular pizza place in the area and it delivers, although I prefer Loui's Pizza located right next to Dollie's Popcorn on the Boardwalk/Rehoboth Avenue.

Jungle Jim's has big water slides and a lazy lake if you want something other than the beach. The Tangier Outlets has three locations and lots of tax-free shopping. Head boats for fishing are located 6 miles north in Lewes, Delaware. Also in Lewes are more GREAT restaurants and quaint shops. There is also a biking trail that goes from Rehoboth to Lewes. Lewes also has a State Park where you can head out to the Ocean, fishing pier, or just walk and/or bike. You can get a beach tag and drive onto the beach too. There is so much to do in the Rehoboth/Lewes/Dewey area.

INCREDIBLE HOME

  • 5 of 5
I don't know where to start - this place was immaculate, well-decorated, well-cared for and had everything we needed. We have stayed at many places along the east coast (including other places in Rehoboth) from MA to FL with our dogs and this one is at the top of our list. You can tell by the quality of the appliances and furnishings that the owners care about their tenants! There are tools in the kitchen that we don't have in our own home and yes we will be back. Thanks Allison.

TERRIBLE ACCUSATION FROM THE OWNER

  • 1 of 5
While we found this property a nice place for a family to stay, I got home to be accused by the owner of bringing a cat and having cat food all over the house. This is completely false. We left the home in cleaner shape than when we arrived, even cleaning out the refrigerator and sweeping the porches and laundering some of the towels. Beware this property owner who obviously will try to dishonestly keep your deposit.

Owner's Response: This is not accurate! I did not hold this woman's deposit, nor did I ever threaten to. As you can see from my many other reviews, I am kind, and fair, and easy to work with. It's sad to have her lie like this. All my other reviews were 5/5, so please disregard this one.

THE DOVE CALL IS AMAZING

  • 5 of 5
Allison made the whole process of renting so easy. It was important for us to bring our new dog on vacation. The Dove Call was the perfect place! It's close to the boardwalk, shops and restaurants. It was so clean and decorated so nicely. We used the deck and grill for a cookouts. It was a little cool at night, so we even used the fireplace. This was one of the most relaxing vacations we've been on. The Dove Call is a great place to stay. We can't wait to visit again. Thank you Allison.

A GREAT GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
The Dove Call is a wonderful beach home. The home is clean and very comfortable with all the amenities you could wish for in a getaway cottage. Alison was kind enough to allow us to bring our 2 golden retrievers and I am not sure who enjoyed it more the humans or the dogs. The beach that allows dogs to play in the mornings was a short walk from the Dove Call and that was very special for all concerned. We could easily walk or take the short drive to Rehoboth Avenue and the savings at the outlets with no tax on clothes was an added perk. There are lovely restaurants and shops along Rehoboth Avenue and the boardwalk.
The Dove Call is more than a beach "rental". This really feels like the well-cared for home of a friend or family menber with furnishings and many touches that take it a step above the typical rental. We look forward to returning next year....dogs too! Thank you Alison!

Owner's Response: I appreciate you returning to the site to add your review! Thank you so much for choosing our house for your vacation. It people like you and your two dogs that we want returning. You took great care of our house and that is how we are still able to allow some people to bring their dogs with them. Thanks again.

DOVE CALL IS A GREAT PLACE TO GET AWAY FROM IT ALL

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful weekend away at the Dove Call!

The house is gorgeous and is decorated in a warm, friendly, beach style. There are three really nice bedrooms and a wonderful living room, which featured a gas fireplace that was not only gave the house atmosphere, but came in handy in February. I imagine you wouldn't want it in July, but it's still nice to look at as you relax!!

The house is located close to everything - Silver Lake, Rehoboth Ave, Route 1, and the beach! Allison is great to deal with and is the perfect mix of friendly and professional. Thanks for everything!

The Dove Call is a great place and will be my first choice for our next trip to the Delaware shore!

FAMILY VACATION (FURRY FAMILY INCLUDED)

  • 5 of 5
I've been vacationing in Rehoboth Beach since I was 16, however this was my first family vacation there with my husband, daughter and two dogs. I was very grateful that I could find a place to vacation with our dogs; I hate leaving them behind.

This home is very well kept and in a prime location - close to beach, parks, shopping. The house was plenty large enough for all of us, very clean and had all necessary amenities. Thank you for opening your home to all of us!

THE DOVE CALL single story 3 bedroom house is just about 3.5 short blocks to south end of Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk and Atlantic Ocean. It takes 5-7 minutes to walk there from our home. It is 1/2 mile per the odometer. Rehoboth Avenue is a 10 minute simple walk. If you are not up for the walk to Rehoboth Avenue, you can also hop on the Jolly Trolly at end of our street and take a ride to downtown Rehoboth Beach where you will find lots of shops, plenty of awesome restaurants and arcades, ice cream and much more. Or head South on the trolley to Dewey Beach (one mile away) where you will find several more restaurants, another beautiful beach and lots of bars and shops. The Jolly Trolly picks you up and drops you off at the end of Robinsons Drive where it intersects with Silver Lake Drive aka Bayard Avenue. Our house is not even one mile from Big Fish Grille (a great restaurant for reasonable prices), and about 1-1/2 to 2 miles to the Tanger Outlets, Outback, grocery stores, etc.

Other Activities: When my family visits, we head to the beach and to Funland which is great for small children, teens, and adults. It has rides for reasonable rates, and also has a huge arcade. The Rehoboth Boardwalk is a one mile stretch right on the Atlantic Ocean. There are great restaurants, fun shops, and treats. Or you can just people watch from the benches along the boardwalk. There is also a bandstand where they have great shows throughout the summer! Fireworks off the coast for the 4th of July. Delaware is also tax free shopping--so we usually hit the outlets too. Great, Great restaurants in Rehoboth, 6 miles north in Lewes, and south in Dewey or Bethany Beach. Jungle Jim's water slides are 1 mile from The Dove Call and they are FUN! There are headboats for fishing in Lewes. Golf courses in every direction. Oh, and if its raining--movie theaters. We also have a 24/7 Club Fitness gym to work out at and state parks to bike or hike! So much to do...I love it!

Golf: The Rookery Golf Course is about 10 miles north of Rehoboth. Baywood Greens is a gorgeous course about 6 miles west of Route one in Millsboro. This course has a great restaurant too. There are some other courses south in Oceanview, Delaware and Ocean City, MD.
