About The Owner

I live in the Hamptons and work as a Licenced Real Estate Broker . Love to walk and run on the beach, surf, kitesurf, stand up paddle. This is the dream beach cottage for me that my mother and I use off season.

Why The Owner chose Montauk

Love Montauk. Montauk life is about the outdoors and having fun. Bought this place to surf, SUP, and kitesurf right out my door.

What makes this apartment unique

Very few places are close enough to the beach so you can go for a morning run, go back for breakfast, easily carry your stuff and kids to the beach. If you forget your sun block or get hungry it is no problem to go back to the house to get what you need. Everyone can be independent and not need a car to have fun. Not too far from Jitney or LIRR While accessable to town it is not in town and is private and quiet. With great ocean views, beach access, walk to village and privacy it is almost a unique combination we offer.

Just spent a weekend in the West Apartment with my 3 sisters. The cottages and furnishings are basic...nothing fancy, but it was absolutely perfect for our stay. The accommodations were very clean. The location is perfect with a short walk across the street to the beach. Very close to town but just enough off the beaten path for seclusion. The owner was delightful. I strongly recommend and plan on staying again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

My husband and I were in Montauk with our 9 month old son and his nanny for the weekend and had a hard time deciding between renting a hotel and getting a house for the weekend. We were surprised to see that the price of this great little cottage was pretty comparable with other (lesser) hotels in the area.
The house was delivered as promised - VERY clean, with new linen, towels, soaps, etc. Kitchen is also well equipped. The space was just what we needed and exceeded our expectations!
We would definitely stay again when we're back in Montauk!
Recommended for:  Families with Young Children

the house was great. everything clean, and exactly how it should be. Unbelievable location and literally within ear shot of the crashing waves.

can't say enough good things about the place, the owners and the whole experience.

The bungalow was very clean and had everything you could wish for in a beach cottage. The sheets on the bed were clean but stained, which was a little off-putting. It also had a private garden which was a plus given that the surrounding area is quiet developed. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
The only downside was the rental did not supply a beach pass which most motels and rentals in the area do. This meant we were confined to the beach across the road which, while lovely, was not suitable for swimming or paddling for our 5 year old (or indeed us) due to rough waters and crashing waves. There was no life-guard present on this beach. There are many beaches in the area with calmer water and life-guards, but if you don't have a pass displayed on your dash you will be ticketed by the police.
The other thing: my husband walked in his bare feet on the grass outside the house on our first vacation morning and was stung on the foot by a bee. The clover in the grass attracts a lot of bees as we discovered. They posed no threat so long as we wore shoes (a bit of a nuisance when you're on vacation). We would definitely return next year if a beach pass were made available.

Thanks for your feedback. Ouch! getting stung on the foot is painful. Very sorry about that. We keep clover in the lawn because it fixes nitrogen, and allows us to skip the chemical fertilizers. Usually it is kept so short, it doesn't bloom, so doesn't attract bees, but these flowers got past us.
I was told at the Town office that non-resident beach passes have to be registered to a particular vehicle, cost several hundred dollars, and were non-transferable. I will try to track down the way the hotels do it.
There is a town beach about 1/2 mile from here, with a lifeguard and I think pay-per-day parking, just West of the IGA. We'll have more information on that by next season also.
However, we are very pleased that most of your experience was happy, and will try to make it perfect next time.

This lovely 2 bedroom cottage was great! Best sleeping accommodations, cool breezy nights. No need for AC. Can listen to the waves at night crashing. Awesome outdoor showers my sons loved! Very private, relaxed feeling. Short walk path to beach was great!! The beach was beautiful and clean. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
