Great for family get together

Property was a little pricey, but worth every penny. The listing was accurate, there were more amenities than expected. Many nice touches such as supplies of cleaning materials, soap, shampoo, and other items we did not expect. Property was clean and beautifully maintained; there were large flat screened tvs. The manager was helpful. In addition to these matters the following made the property outstanding for me. My intent was to have my children and grandchildren together for the first time in years. I have kids on both coasts and in Minnesota. The location of the property was perfect. It was remote from the touristy, suburban like, Brainerd-Baxter area and in the woods. Very little traffic on gravel road leading to and by the property, it was quiet - we heard loons day and night - fishing was good both from the pontoon and from the pier. The amenities in the house were outstanding. Kitchen appliances were Viking heavy duty making meal prep easy. Lots of room to spread out. The loft has a good pool table and the cues had all their tips. Everything worked. TV and Internet hookups worked. (I'd like to do away with all electronic communications on vacation but the younger set gets nervous if they can't text etc.) Cell phone service for Verizon worked well. (Although I turned mine off.) Lake Wabedo is small but adequate. Never saw more than two boats other than our on the lake at one time. Only saw one jet ski for a short time. The pontoon was a bargain. Can't say enough good about this property. I would recommend it to friends and family. It fitted our needs perfectly. However, there are a couple of considerations that might make the property unattractive for some. There is no beach that many would want. The stairs to the pier are long and might be difficult for elderly persons or anyone suffering from coronary or pulmonary problems. Nearby Longville is small with few attractions such as shopping or movies; restaurants are small town standard. If you seek "fine dining" and those trendy little shops selling kitch, this probably isn't the place. Overall - great place.
