Awesome view and people
They don't call it Friendship for nothing, everyone was very friendly and generous!!! As I believe we were the first people to rent from this owner I will cut him some slack. The cabin/cottage is actually nicer than it looks in the pictures. You have a great view of the harbor right from the deck! Could use some new screens as a lot of mosquitoes got in, so be sure to bring some bug defogger in case the wind isn't blowing or you want to sit outside after dark. Had a few issues with some things that were advertised, like the air conditioner, which is there (in a closet) but didn't need it as the temps got cooler at night and there were plenty of fans. Beds were very comfortable and the cabin has a very cozy, retro feel. Advertised a TV, which did not work (cable wasn't hooked up), Advertised CD player, which did not work (needs to get a new one) Advertised a boat, which wasn't made available but owner arranged a friend to take the men out fishing. There is a beach, but the water looked to cloudy (from all the lobster boats I guess) for me to swim, although there were people swimming there. On the plus side I don't usually get a fun outdoor game, toilet paper, paper towels, bug spray, bug candles, toothpaste and shampoo supplied. If you're into kayaking friendship harbor is a great place to tool around and check out a lot of classy sailboats moored in the harbor. If you love lobster you couldn't be in a better place, as there are working lobster companies on either side of the cabin. The atmosphere is very laid back and beautiful. This is a perfect setting for 4 people looking to relax, find an affordable place and who don't care about luxurious surroundings. It's comfy, cozy, and quaint, just like Maine!
