My real name is Carol but everyone on the island knows me by my nick-name 'Tootie'.
I own and am Administrative Manager for Eldemire's. Working alongside me is my grandaughter and husband, so it is all in the famliy! All Caymanian.
Myself and my family are very well known and respected on Grand Cayman.
My mother was born in Georgetown and my dad on Cayman Brac, but I was born and raised in Jamaica as my dad was a ship's captain and his job was their. I left Jamaica at 32 years old and came to Cayman to live and I love it here as the lifestyle is very easy, safe and you pay no taxes of any kind!
I am an avid tennis player and have been since I was 15. (just a few years ago LOL).. I still play twice a week.
I used to Scuba Dive but injured my ear so had to stop. I saw a lot and I love the beauty and solitude of the underwater world. Every member of my family, from my great grandfather right down the lineage to my grandchildren are divers.
My husband is a Scuba Instructor and when you come if you have your PADI cerification he can take you on beautiful shore dives. if you want to learn he can teach you right outside, in our pool.
I love to share my island heritage with visitors, with my ancestry being Northern Europpean. Also I love to share Cayman information too and that my ancestry has been on this island since 500 years ago, and in the tourist industry for over 33 years.
I have 3 cats, which you will meet some as they love to mingle with guests. You will meet some of them for sure as I live across the road from Eldemire's and some of them follow me their.
My passions? Being friendly and kind to everyone. Going to Church. Travelling abroad for about a month each year to different countries. So far I have been to 25 different countries. Meeting new people and experiencing different cultures, Very passionate about my art talent . I paint, make mosaics and stained glass items and always taking a new course in something
Never bought it as I inherited it from my parents, who built it as a family home in 1975. After my dad's death in 1977, my mother opened it up to visitors and it was known then as Eldemire's Guest House. So the atmosphere you will feel, will be 'your home away from home' and you will feel like you are family . Not sophisticated, but casual and warm as our perpetual sunshine.
I love nature and at Eldemire's you see beautiful tropical plants and flowers with the birds and butterflies coming to drink the nectar from the flowers. I feel like I am in a little 'nature reserve' and I enjoy God''s creation.
