Eldemire's Tropical Island Inn is a one-of-a-kind little Guest House in Grand Cayman, where you will feel like you are at home, but in a very warm and tropical area in the Caribbean. The ambiance has that one of a kind vibrant 'Tropical' look, and has been owned and managed since 1977 by our well known and respected Caymanian family. We pride ourselves in tending to our guests' needs and advising them on where to go, what to see and what to do whilst on island.
The property is located in a private and safe and friendly neighborhood, on the west side of the island, across the road from the ocean and an easy walk to 4 Dive Centers, Diving, Snorkeling, Oceanfront Restaurants, Museum, downtown Georgetown, Atlantis Submarine Tours, 'booze cruises on a replica of an old sailing ship, the island's best Art and Craft Gallery, lovely seaside park, a beautiful white sand beach. The airport is only an 8 minute drive away.
At Eldemire's we can keep our rates low because we are not a chain hotel and do not have to pay high franchise fees or advertising fees since we rely on word of mouth to promote our hotel. By keeping this business model, we are able to pass the value onto our guests while continuing to offer the great service and island amenities our travelers are looking for at an affordable rate
Here are some clues about spending a wonderful vacation on Grand Cayman.
The island(s) have very quiet and calm waters and an average temperature of 85'F. There is horseback riding on the beach by our family, and fantastic diving with 365 dive sites over the 3 islands. You can also swim with the dolphins or stingrays, visit the turtle farm and swim with them too, or go for a Helicopter Ride, Kayaking, para sailing, kite boarding, jet skiing or surfing to name a few!
Our place is not like a big hotel with all the amenities, but where we are different to all of the big hotels, is that we offer that real island sincerity, friendliness and informality, and our property is designed in such a manner that it has an intimate and friendly communal feel about it, and a rare laid-back charm.
The building has 4 bedrooms on the 2nd floor and guests of these private rooms with private bathrooms have the use of shared kitchen facilities and a common lounge area downstairs. One room has a double bed and the other three have 2 twin beds that can be converted to a king size. Roll away beds can be placed in the 3 rooms also.
There is a private Studio Suite with a queen size bed, kitchenette and lounge/dining area.
There are two 1 bedroom Apartments with kitchens/lounge area and one has a queens size bed and sleeper sofa ans the other one has a king size bed and futon.
When you sit around on the pool deck, where there are tables and chairs and a swing under the shady trees, you will be delighted in the natural surroundings with birds, parrots, butterflies and trees and flowers around.
ALL Rooms and Suites are air-conditioned, have their own private bathrooms, Cable TV and WIFI, and our own self-made information booklet on what to see and do and where to eat. There is complimentary tea and coffee provided for everyone.
The 4 Bedrooms, and also lounge areas in Suites, all have a flat screen Cable TV and 'black-out' privacy curtains.

ARRANGING EXCURSIONS Our staff can arrange Snorkeling excursions to the famous Stingray/Sandbar where you can feed and hold wild stingrays, in water only 3 feet deep. We can also arrange Shore and Boat diving on the “wall”, (over 90 ft. deep), and to a shipwreck or to Stingray City, and many other activities.
Just a minute away from us you can go on a Submarine Excursion, where you will experience the beauty of our underwater world and exquisite reef and fish-life – without getting wet!
Our own Dive Instructor can provide 'wannabe' divers with a short course on how to dive and then he will take you on a 40 ft. shore dive over a reef or shipwreck.
Many excursions, rental cars, scooters and bicycles can be arranged by us.
My real name is Carol but everyone on the island knows me by my nick-name 'Tootie'', that I inherited when I was very young.
I own and am Administrative Manager for Eldemire's, . And working alongside me is my Canadian husband, Bob, and my grandaughter. Elena. So it is all in the family!
The Eldemire family is very well known and respected on Grand Cayman.
My mother was born in Georgetown and my dad on Cayman Brac, but I was born and raised in Jamaica as my dad was a ship's captain and his job was their. I left Jamaica at 32 years old and came to Cayman to live and I love it here as the lifestyle is very easy, safe and you pay no taxes of any kind!
I am an avid tennis player and have been since I was 15. (just a few years ago LOL).. I still play twice a week.
I used to Scuba Dive but not anymore. I do miss the beauty and solitude of the underwater world though. Every member of my family, from my great grandfather right down to my grandchildren are divers.
My husband Bob is a Scuba Instructor and when you come if you have your PADI certification he can take you on beautiful shore dives. Or if you want to learn, he can teach you in our pool and then take you on a 40 ft. dive.
I love to share my island heritage with visitors, with my ancestry being Northern European (German). Also I love to share Cayman information too and that my ancestry has been on this island since 500 years ago, and in the tourist industry for over 33 years.
I have 4 cats, (which you will meet some) who love to mingle with guest. I live across the road from Eldemire's so some of them follow me their.
My passions? Being friendly and kind to everyone. Loving God. Playing tennis. Travelling abroad for about a month each year to different countries. (So far I have been to 25 different countries). Meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. Very passionate about my art talent. I paint, make mosaics and stained glass items and always taking a new course in something
Carol 'Tootie' Eldemire-Geddes purchased this estate in 1975
Never bought it as I inherited it from my parents, who built it as a family home in 1975. After my dad's death in 1977, my mother opened it up to visitors and it was known then as Eldemire's Guest House.
After her passing to be in her Heavenly home, myself and my family inherited it. So the serene and pleasurable atmosphere you will feel, will be like Eldemire's is 'your home away from home', and you will feel like you are family . Not a sophisticated atmosphere, but it has a casual, laid back and pleasant charm to it. The ambiance you will feel at Eldemire's will be a very unique experience for you as it is a one-of-a-kind pleasant experience on Grand Cayman, as there is no commercial feel about it.
I love nature, and natural surroundings. At Eldemire's you will be surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and flowers with the birds and butterflies coming to drink the nectar from the flowers. Also there are wild parrots with a nest just across the road. beautiful to watch. I feel like I am in a little 'nature reserve' and I enjoy God''s creation. Eldemire's is a very unique property in that you will el like you have come to a 'home away from home' with friendly locals.
