Jeanne and I are from the mid west and spent many summers on Lake Erie. As we moved south, we never figured we would find a place that would equal the great lakes. When we found Smith Mountain Lake, we fell in love with it and decided to make it our home. The area is the friendliest place we've ever lived and the lake and surrounding mountains just adds to the pleasure. It's a enjoyable to be here in all of the seasons and there's always something to do.
Jim Singleton purchased this chalet in 2004
This home is one of the few truly chalet style homes we were able to find here at the lake. We love the high ceilings and all the windows make it seem like you're sitting in the outdoors. The huge deck is a great feature because we enjoy sitting outside enjoying the serenity and views. It took a lot of effort to bring out it's potential and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
This home has always created a peaceful presence in our lives that is hard to describe. I think that it's a combination of having the lake and mountains right outside of your doorstep that brings out the best in this home. It's not the closest house to the lake and it doesn't have the big water views that some homes have but it's a home that creates a relaxing and comforting feeling that dream vacations are made of.
