For most foreign visitors, Recoleta and Palermo are the top residential neighborhood choices in Buenos Aires. The best-kept secret is that just between them lies La Isla (The Island), an exquisite, small hill surrounded not by water but by parks and grand staircases that keep major traffic at bay.
Gelly y Obes, just two blocks in length, is the main street of La Isla, the address of the mansion of the British Ambassador and that of the most aristocratic and private Argentines. During your visit to Buenos Aires, you will have the chance to stay in La Isla, at a fantastic 140 square meter NON-SMOKING apartment comfortably appointed for four or five guests with great living room/dining room, study, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, wireless Internet, phone land line and a complementary cell phone to keep in touch with your travel companions.
You will be at walking distance from Recoleta, with it's restaurants, cabarets, multiplex, artisan street fairs, and cultural center. You will also be at three blocks from the Museo de Bellas Artes and two from the National Public Library. But you will be above it all, in a capsule of comfort and peace, that you can leave only when you are ready for noise and excitement.
I am a film producer with properties in the Caribbean, New York, and Buenos Aires.
Carlos Munoz purchased this condo in 2007
I was thinking about making a real estate investment, but was undecided. When I saw this apartment, I fell in love with it. It is extremely spacious, has a wonderful balcony on a very quiet cobble street, it is so centrally located yet in an exclusive area of the city... I just couldn't let the opportunity escape.
I love how quiet and comfortable the place is. It is really my home away from home.
My 2nd stay at this wonderful apartment was even better. As promised, Carlos had a bottle of Malbec waiting for me. Maria the manger was wonderful and helpful as ever!! I am a man, traveling with 2 women. The 3 bathrooms were very much appreciated. The place is perfectly located. Close to all, plenty of cabs available if you don't walk. But it is very quiet and peaceful if you just want to relax. Maria recommended a bicycle tour which we loved. You get to see places you never would get to on your own. 4 hours with plenty of stops and lunch on your own in La Boca. (Don't miss it...Go on your own if not by bike) Make sure you visit the Cemetery (just a few blocks from the apartment!) Go to a Tango show! (Maria can help with that too!) Have a Parilla lunch or dinner. Take a day trip to Uruguay. Enjoy the great City and people of B.A. and make this apartment your base and a grand place to come home to at any time!!
The apartament is very well located. It needs a little bit of maintenance. Good option at a reasonable value.
Before I rented this property I had so many questions and they were ALL answered by owner and manager. We were looking for a place to unwind after a day out in the city and this was IT. 3 bedrooms and 3 baths with plenty of room for 5 adults .Maria was their to greet us upon arrival and with lots of information. Buenos Aires is a big city, overwhelming at times so no matter where you rent you will need to cab it or use their public transportation. This apartment is located in a quite and safe neighborhood with a concierge on hand. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The only thing I would recommend to management is to replace the pillows on the beds. We had people traveling from USA and Chile and we all love it. Definitely will recommended.
This is a great apartment for a family or even 2 couples. It's very conveniently located in the heart of city on a quiet street. Maria is a doll - welcoming, warm, fluent in English and a great help! It was nice to have 3 full bathrooms, although the 3rd bedroom is quite small. The apartment is very clean and everything was in good working order. The kitchen is fully stocked, so you can cook (even just breakfast) easily. BUT be sure to head out for Argentine's famous steak for dinner!
This apartment/ flat is an excellent value with superb amenities/decor and located in a safe and affluent part of Buenos Aires. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Buenos Aires, loved the apartment and the wonderful service and assistance provided by the owners Carlos & Alex and Maria, on-site office administrator. Everyone was so helpful in providing good advice and suggestions on what to see and do in Buenos Aires. More importantly, Carlos, Alex and Maria are a real pleasure conducting business with and are extremely professional, polite and good people. The next time I travel to Buenos Aires, I would definitely like to reserve the flat again. It truly is a home away from home. Thank you Carlos, Alex and Maria for your kind hospitality!
We went to BA to pick up our daughter who was finishing a semester abroad at the University of Palermo. As long time VRBO users, we spent days looking for the best value - and think we found it! This apartment is perfectly situated on a nice side street very close to the Cemetery, the weekend markets, restaurants, and the main streets to catch buses, cabs, etc. The apartment itself was perfect for 5 people - doable with a 6th for a few nights. Carlos (the owner) was very responsive and Maria (his local manager) equally as so. From check in, to mid week touching base, cleaning, and check out - this was a great value in the perfect location and we would stay again. Thank you!
Palermo parks and lakes are at walking distance. You can bike, rollerskate or have energetic morning walks around the Rosedal, that is, Rose Garden or have tea the the Japanese Garden. Taxis are plentifully available one block from the apartment, in the intersection of Ave. Las Heras and Av. Pueyrredón. Supermarkets with fresh produce, wine, and prepared foods are within a two blocks radius. ATM available in the same block where the building is.
