My sisters and I wanted a mountain cabin in the Sierras spacious enough to accommodate our families, (all 15 at the same time!). We found our cabin last year and have been enjoying the Bass Lake area most weekends while sprucing up the place. Our hope is that your family will enjoy your time here as well!
Bass Lake offers a number of activities sure to please a large family with different interests. Kayaking, hiking and mountain biking are some that we enjoy. The nieces and nephews love to boat and go tubing on the lake. Reading a good book on the deck or playing a board game with the family are good ways to relax at the end of a busy day.
Over the summer we hiked some local trails (like Lewis Creek, there are two waterfalls on the trail, Corlieu Falls is the highest waterfall in Madera County.) If you have a fondness for old-time trains, do not miss the logger steam train at Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad...a train trip into the mountains with some history along the way.
